Now that the Beta is gone and v.08 is out, it still freezes with my 500+ friends.

Hi, I own a Samsung BlackJack II and I recently signed up for Callwave's free service that allows me to view my voicemail on the computer. Once I signed up for this, the number that counts my voicemail messages on my home screen doesn't change from '0' to '1' when I get a voicemail. Is there any way to make the home screen compatible with CallWave?

If there is no way, then how do I cancel my free trial of Callwave? Thanks in advance!

Try this as well, there is a "my location" service under options, I think that is what it is called.

Go into that like you're going to disable it but instead hit the left soft key for "enable." So far, that seems to start my GPS right up when i need it.

Sorry, are you talking about Google maps, GPS Test, or Windows Livesearch when you say this?

Funny! I've had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM!! I've found that this happens when the phone overheats. Maybe a circuit shorts out or something inside...usually if you turn the phone off and then on the problem will go away or you can just put it in your pocket for a while and get it out of the sun. Either way stops the problem (at least for me).

I am a blackjack user that got the phone with windows mobile 6.0 on it. In the news, Microsoft said that one of the first phones that will be worked to handle the update would be the Blackjack II. I think AT&T is selling blackjack's with Windows Mobile 6.1 on it right now, but I am not positive. Is there anything I have to do to update the Blackjack I have right now to Windows Mobile 6.1? If it isnt out for Blackjack II yet, then when will it be out? They announced it at the beginning of April!

When I do eventually update, will it hard reset my phone? Thanks.

Hey, someone on these forums figured out how to fix this. What you have to do is delete all your text messages, email, sent messages, and drafts, and it works! Really! If you want to back up your text messages, go to www.dashwire.com and set up an electronic account that will back everything on your phone up for free to the internet. That's what I did, and now I'm getting it to work!

I have a Blackjack II and I downloaded and installed the MoDaCo GPS Unlocker cab. Now, to get GPS to work on my phone, I have to wait 2-15 minutes for it to "warm up," or start up, by going to windows live search and pressing "center on GPS." (Google Maps times out). After it finds its position using Windows LiveSearch, it works for the rest of the programs. Is there any way to turn the GPS chip on all the time and get it working without having to go to LiveSearch and have it start up? I usually have to wait 2-15 minutes before it decides to start up, during which the back of the phone gets very hot. Thanks.

I've been running Garmin Mobile XT on the BJ2 out of the box using the GPS intermediate driver without any problems for the past couple of weeks. Few days ago, for the first time, the BJ2 crashed while trying to load Garmin that resolved with a soft reset. Then it would crash even after just soft resetting. Then when loading Garmin, after the first Garmin screen opens up, the problem would abruptly close before getting to the user agreement. I haven't done anything to mess around with Garmin, so it's a mystery why this happened. Uninstalling, removing all the files/maps from the storage card, reinstalling and adding all the files again hasn't resolved the problem, still does the same thing: garmin starts to load (Garmin screen comes up) but then the app shuts down by itself before the user agreement. GPS still works btw when using Live and Gmaps, so doesn't seem to be a GPS issue. Anyone have a similar problem with Garmin?

Yes, this is EXACTLY what happens to me! I guess you've gotta hard reset. Thanks for the advice!

Wow, not sure what to think on this. I applied the BBII patch yesterday and was able to quickly get Google Maps up and running. Now upon downloading and installing this new file, I can't connect to anything. I've loaded GPS Test and while it sees sats, it never locks onto them. Same thing now when launching Google Maps. Everything worked fine after the original cab hack, but for the GPSID hack, it's not working, for anything.

This is EXACTLY what happenned to me when I installed GPSID Settings after installing the Modoco GPS Activator. It just stopped working. I just did a hard reset of the phone and reinstalled everything without touching the GPSID setting hack again. I learned my lesson.

Hi, quick question.

I recently downloaded MSNBC's smartphone app and I like it, but I do not like how it put a button on my Blackjack II's home screen. I don't need the shortcut. I am currently running Facade's home screen. Is there any way I can remove that button, but keep the application? Thanks.

Right, well this is how I got it to work on MY Blackjack II:

I installed Windows Live and Google Maps. Then I installed this Modaco GPS activator. I opened Windows Live and set the GPS settings to COM4 and asked it to use GPS. After about two minutes of initializing, it worked. Then I asked Google Maps to center me using GPS after I set it to COM4 and it worked. However, if I ever want to use Google Maps without first using the GPS with Windows Live, it doesn't work. It just times out. I guess Windows Live boots up the GPS so that it can be used by Google Maps or any other application, really.
