hello there guys, been toying around with this nifty device of mine but have hit a few dead ends of late, on of which is how do i connect this to my laptop and create a mobile internet connection? internet sharing does that but im using the gprs which isnt the settings for the wireless modem setting for HSDPA or 3G, i have asked my network operator a million times over but they have concluded that testing on an Asus is not gonna happen anytime soon so they only know what is the configurations like on a HTC or Dopod kinda device. any suggestions? thanks. |

I havent installed any 3rd party GPS software like TomTom or Garmin Que yet till i try to figure out the settings on the set already...Pls help me with the software and GPS hardware port settings and speed i have tried all sorts of combinations still cant lock on to a satellite in indonesia. Another thing does GPS work inside a single storey house to give your location? Thanks. |

Well I've taken the plunge and ordered one too - plus a 4Gb MiniSD SDHC card (and already downloaded the patch to enable SDHC). It's also goodbye T-Mobile as I've signed up with O2 on a SIM only contract - £25 a month for 600 xNet minutes, 1000 texts and unlimited internet, and 30 day rolling contract. Not bad! hey could you point to an online retailer sellin the 4GB miniSD SDHC card because most sites are only givin out SD HC or microSD sdhc no sign of mini, checked out moby as well couldn't find it... thanks. |

hey lynda, why don't you go for the MWg Atom Life its a pretty nifty pda-phone not the other way around. Its got almost everything except a GPSr its slightly smaller than the iPhone and i have neva seen the size of your phone but i think it will suit you just fine. Try browsing around at the MWg site or on eXpansys. I'm getting one because the previous setup from O2 used to be problematic but users in the USA and UK so far haven't complained much, crossed finggers! They have got a brand new stock in so hope you check it out. Cheers! |

oh boy...now my deepest fears are coming back to me! i did all my research on this model (formerly xda atom life) and was really put off by it bcos of all the reviews ie. : QUOTE I looked long and hard at this offer when it first appeared on eXpansys but was soon put off by the appalling user feedback and reviews on the Atom Life which seemed to be consistent on every forum. These included terrible battery life, frequent hardware failures, missed calls and general poor quality. These continued after the WM6 upgrade. So if you and Mono have been playing with the Life for a couple of weeks, I'm surprised to see a different picture painted - with heaps of praise and not a sinlge mention of battery life, which we would expect to be poor with such a fast CPU. Has the addition of a sticker and WM6 really made it into a totally different animal? but after hearing new things from the new set even tho its a slapped on logo sticker i thought ok this fry should be money's worth...and our bro mcwarre having a slight glitch there is making me worried. Now that the new sets are in and there isn't a 5 day wait i could just grab it, but maybe i'l wait for Paul's review video or something perhaps. Right now if i got down to buying it i'm definitely not going to mod to the iPhone skin at all! |

CONS - Cam is 'only' 2MP (but isn't bad) - MWG logo on front is only a sticker, and peels off to reveal an O2 logo (ok, so no huge deal) - No GPS or keyboard (if you need them) - Loses time when battery is removed - Stylus 'bends' a bit, it could be more solid so what you are saying paul is that these sets arent brand new like they say they are? because i called up eXpansys(UK, USA and HK) and they said that these are brand new ones and not like in asia where they are trying to sell off the old O2 sets instead of giving the new ones...thats a rip off don't ya think? and when would you be coming out with that full review of the Life? another forum topic has a post saying that the battery life is quite exhaustive.. thanks a lot fellas! |

You would be best contacting Expansys directly to check on shipping times. There was a 5 day wait when I ordered mine but it was shipped the following day! alright cheers mate on that info, could u tell me when u put in your order if you don't mind? besides that does anyone who has already got the Life and played around with it, have anything to say: pros & cons? would love to hear on the feedback. one last thing, lotsa sites and even on the xda-developer forum site have iPhone looking themes and the S2U2 (formerly slide2unlock feature) installed in their PPC's, was just wondering whether it would be a good thing to do so or will it spoil the Life. thanks and will update once i get it and if i do... |

There is a 5 day estimated wait for stock, when do you guys think they will ship it if i put in an order today because the friend im getting shipped to will be leaving in 7 days. And how efficient are they? Because i can't hardly wait to get my hands on it with all the reviews and responses about it...hahaha albeit being the first person in Msia to get my hands on it...cheers guys! |
