Catchphrase tones... Seems like there's a bit of a blip at the end there. I have this one [attachment=20555:attachment] which seems a bit better, I've converted to a 22kHz mono WAV, which is good enough for SMS tones. Thanks. Just what I was looking for! say what you see. if you see it, say it! ;-] |

Hi.. I'm now a m3100 user too, having previously had smartphones I've been a fan of Smart Explorer! I'd not tried getting it for the PPC yet as the new native File Explorer in wm5 is a vast improvement on previous versions imho. Saying that I've just tried out Smart Explorer and appear to be having more luck than you! You didn't mention where you downloaded it or what version you tried but I just went here and downloaded the .cab link at the top of the page, copied it to my phone (also a .exe install here), installed it ok. The interface doesn't appear to be designed for pocketpc but the functionality seems to be there. If you are still having problems then make sure you are copying the cab to any folder, finding it and running it via the native file explorer then running it from the programs menu.. Good luck ;-] |

A similar problem used to occur with the c500. I've not experienced it with my c600 but I only got it yesterday !! The problem was that there is a little pin (or something) inside the headphone socket which detects wether the headphones are connected, and if so hard sets the output to headphone only. The fix was to slowly (with something like wmp playing so there is a sound output running) insert and remove the headphone jack, wiggle it around a bit too.. this should get the 'pin' to set back to normal output. It often occured as a result of pulling the jack out too quickly in the first place and not letting the 'pin' set to normal output. Try it, I had this quite a few times on the c500.. ;-] |

hmmm. . . i guess it is the plugin that needs changing rather than the homescreens xml. is anyone else having this problem? or does anyone know who the original author of the plugin is? ;o] |

Ok, is it just me or... I''ve completed the upgrade to build 4.2.1.1 on my c500. It all looks good, the new features in wmp10 were particularly important for me. The only problem I've come across is using the Media Player homescreen plugin, it appears to have lost all functionality. Have MS changed the API ? Do I not have the right plugin version ? Has anyone else updated to 4.2.1.1 and got the media player plugin working ? thanks ;-] |

QUOTE(rmossuk @ Jul 12 2005, 14:04) I have just installed this ROM and all seemed to go ok but have just noticed that my phone is now stuck in the Headset profile all of the time. Even if trying to change to one of the other profiles it reverts straight back to the headset profile. Has anyone seen this behaviour before or have any ideas of a solution/workaround. Any help would be appricated as ringtones are completly inaudible in headset profile unless you actually have a headset plugged in. Many thanks. sounds strange that this happens after/as the result of the upgrade. I have had this before, it seems to be that some sort of switch/sensor in the headphone socket handles setting the headset profile. To fix the problem I had to spend a while inserting and removing the headphone jack until the switch correctly registered the removal. (slowly does it!) ;-] |

QUOTE(lardy @ Apr 10 2005, 11:09) Do i need to do this for worms? or should it work because it is signed? I didn't try running worms before i unlocked my phone but it installed and runs fine on my unlocked c500. The unlocking process is fairly simple and as u suggest u r new to your c500 I'm sure u will find software unlocking a useful thing to have done as it makes all sorts of great free software/games available to you. ;-] |

QUOTE(leinadafc @ Mar 30 2005, 09:46) I use Playlist Manager 2003. This allows you to build playlist files on the phone. I don't have a direct link, sorry, but I picked it up from a post on here. EDIT - here's the post.. http://www.modaco.com/WMP10_Playlist-t199146.html Hey man , this is perfect. It cuts out the manual steps i've had to use AND let's me do it all on the phone.. Good work fella.. btw found the direct link for 2003 at http://www.airfagev.com/downloads1.asp?id=86 ;-] |

Yes, it would be best to resize the picture on the pc. The screen size is 176 x 220 pixels. The top 20 or so are likely to be covered by the bar at the top or show through the bar depending on your home screen. If you are using the orange default screen for example the top of the picture would be masked by the bar so u may want to create the picture with that in mind. The buttons at the bottom will also mask the bottom of the picture so really you could use 176x200 as the picture will be aligned to the top of the screen. ;-] |

This is a problem I had too, however asx files came to the rescue ! Simply an asx file is just a text file with mark up like xml. It looks something like this... CODE <asx version= "3">
<Ref Href = "001_Song.wma" />

<Ref Href = "002_Tune.wma" />
</asx> This file acts as a playlist, playing in the order set out in the file. You don't have to type all this out tho. There are various asx file creators ( i use this: http://www.fox-ts.nildram.co.uk/AsxMaker/AsxMaker.zip ) which let you drag and drop a list of tunes, re-order if needed and outputs an asx playlist. Generally each album i put on the phone is in it's own folder, in that folder i also place the asx file which lists the contents of this album. Then via activesync, i create a shortcut to this asx file in \storage\windows\start menu\playlists\ so i can then launch any of my albums straight from the start menu. ;-] |
