Whenever I create an appointment on my shadow and invite an attendee, when the attendee receives the invite, it shows the date and time that I sent the invite rather than the date and time of the actual appointment.

Is there any fix to this?

I know that some functionality can be turned on and others can't because of hardware limitations. However I am curious if 3G can be enabled on a Shadow? Is it a software hack or does it need the actual hardware to do this.

You need to rename the *.gif one to be BrandingBrick.gif, and copy it to the phones Window directory. Backup the original if you want.

Thanks for the idea! That puts in in my recent call list which is helpful when I dial a number. I was hoping it would put it on my screen while I was on a call to. So after some digging around, I found that the BackgroundImage_Port.bmp is the one I needed to modify. I am attaching it here if someone else would fine it helpful. I am also uploading my BrandingBrick.gif. The one I originially created was black with white letters. This one is white with black letters as to match that particular screen.

Thanks again!

<edit>
It looks like when attaching gif's it shows the actual image. So just right click and "Save As" on the image to download it.
</edit>

ShadowMike,

I noticed that in one of your packages (can't remember which one, I think in the iPhone one) there was a dial.gif and dial.png. How do you get that to show up on your phone? It would be extremely helpful when calling 1-800-FLOWERS or something like it.

I have a status icon on my phone that is not in the manual, it looks like an upside down pair of glasses in the display notification area of the status bar. any insight would be appreciated. It is really starting to bug me.
Is it the same "upside down pair of glasses" found on your "1" key? If so, check your voicemail, you have a message waiting cool.gif .

Open the contents of that file in a text editor to figure out what was installed. If you like, post the contents here.
So... I forgot that the file explorer on the device doesn't show file extensions and some system files.

The file is actually 63AE.tmp and there is a STP59B3.DLL in that directory as well. Below is the contents of the .tmp file. It appears to be something to do with WAP, perhaps how T-Mobile updates device settings OTA? Since I don't use T-Mobile and if what I am thinking is true, I could probably do without this program.

Anyway, here you go!

<parm name="NumFiles" value="0"/>

I believe in \application data\home\cmhome.home.xml, you need to edit
<color name="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT" value="#D5B867"/>

I have edited that line in both \application data\home\chome.home.xml & \windows\chome.home.xml. Both didn't work :-( Even after a power cycle of the phone. After the phone came back up, I verified that the changes were still there. It's not in the registry is it?

where do we copy the file to?

When you unzip or unrar the file you download, you will copy the images you want to \windows. Make sure you pay attention to to what images you copy so that you are getting the "theme" you want.

Also, before you copy any of the images to \windows, I would make a backup of the images you currenly have, so if you decide you don't your changes, you just need to copy them back to \windows.

Look in \windows\appmgr and see what's installed.

In \windows\appmgr\--, there is one file: 63AE

Not very indicative :-(

Does anyone know what it is?

I have taken the iTunes icons and modified the base theme to make a simple black.

You can get the modified images here.

Does anyone know how to change the color of the highlighting on the start menu? As seen below, it is still brown.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing!

One question, how did you edit the animated GIF TMO_Shadow.gif? I have tried to rename/delete/overwrite that file and it tells me that it is protected. I have run the app unlocker too.

Thanks in advance!

I guess I can overwrite it with your file so that's al that matters. But how did you edit it?

Actually.... I can't delete all the subkeys of My5. You didn't have any problem?

Hmmm. I had no problem at all. The only thing that I can think of that might have allowed me to do this was running the app unlock tool. If you haven't done this, you can give it a shot.

Click here for the app unlock tool.

Only most - you can add stuff to it which you can then change but most is in ROM.

That's a bummer. Is there a generic/factory ROM available for the Shadow?

the windows directory is in ROM - only way to change it is to flash a new ROM

The entire directory? I am able to modify some images, specifically the ones related to the Neo interface. All of which are in the root of \windows.

In my quest to make my phone as generic as I can, I am trying to modify some of the files under \windows, however it won't let me. If I try to delete a file, it states:

Cannot delete file TMO_Shadow: The file may be in read-only memory, on a write protected disk or is currently in use by the application.

I have ran the app-unlocker already. Is there anyway for me to modify these files?

Thanks in advance!

I have an unlocked T-Mobile Shadow that I am using on AT&T. I am unable to change the MMS settings to AT&Ts settings. When I go to Start>Accessories>MMS Settings, "T-Mobile Settings" appear in the list (only item). When I right soft-key on "menu," all of the items are greyed out (New, Edit, Delete, set as default). Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

You are in the wrong spot wink.gif .

Go to Start | Settings | Connections | Proxy

Create a new entry by selecting Menu | Add

Here are my settings:

Description: AT&T WAP (you can call it whatever you'd like)
Connects from: The Internet
Connects to: WAP Network
Proxy (name:port): wireless.cingular.com:80
Type: HTTP
User name: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>

Select done. Make sure you delete any other settings that may exist other than this new one.

Now, go to Start | Settings | Connections | GPRS

Create a new entry by selecting Menu | Add

Description: Media Net (again, you can call this whatever you'd like)
Connects to: The Internet
Access point: wap.cingular
User name: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
Authentication Type: CHAP
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <leave blank>

Now go to Start | Internet Explorer

Then go to Menu | Tools | Options | Connections

Uncheck "Automatically detect settings."
Select network: WAP Network

I have purchased a T-Mobile Shadow and unlocked it. Everytime I power up my phone, voxsyncsmart_sms starts up, pings T-Moble and I get a text message back saying:

453 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.
06050415CC15CC62D99B572E1C3760C583264D1C3770C183160C183060C1

Any ideas on how I can disable this? Seems to be some T-Mobile "feature".

Thanks!

Thanks for the great write up! I have created some of my own to share. I am not sure how you are doing the screenshots of your device (maybe you will throw me a bone and tell me ;-) ), but I have attached a background so you can at least see the color scheme.

Of course there are no warranties :-D, but I think I got all the images neo uses.

Let me know if I need to update anything!

I bought a Shadow directly from T-Mobile and unlocked it because it was less expensive than buying a generic HTC version (at least that I could find).

Has anyone figured out how to remove any reference to T-Mobile from a Shadow and make it as if it was a generic unlocked phone?

Thanks in advance!
