Asus put a new firmware for Hongkong users online. Nothing for us Europeans yet. http://support.asus.com/download/download....amp;model=M530W Wonder if anything improved, like the battery indicator which is absolute crap! Somebody brave enough to try it? |

Maybe I am being slightly naieve here... although I hope not, but I would expect that when a reputable company such as Expansys lists an item of software as being one of the most popular accessories for an item of hardware, they would have some proof that the two are actually compatible. Perhaps they have actually tested it themselves, possibly they are relying on information given by the software manufacturers, or maybe even some of their customers have actually managed to install and run it! If it transpires that that CoPilot 7 is not compatible wth my Asus I would obviously like to get a refund on one or the other... preferably the former, as there is currently no viable option, so far as I am concerned, to the Asus M530W. In the case of the software... which ALK are stilll looking in to, it might be slightly more difficult for me to return it, now that I have opened the product and also uncovered the activation code... at the request of their technical support incidentally. However I am still hoping that my problem will be sorted out... preferably sooner rather than later, and that I will then be a happy bunny once again! I think the only thing you could ask for them is to take it back after you've found there is a problem, and if you're lucky, they might, especially because it's listed on their website as optionally bundled software. That did give you a promise that you would expect it would work on the device. I don't think however that they are obliged to take it back after, let's say, 8 days after you've bought it and not reported it to them directly, of which i don't know if you did. Well, atleast my experience with webshops is that they are usually absolutely horrible in customer service, especially in these gray areas. Usually you need to pull a lawyer out to get them to do anything, if you can proof you're right. I do however have no experience with Expansys, so it's upto you to try to let them refund it or for you to accept the challenge and try to get it working update:spelling |

Good spot! /me downloads... P I heard it through my support request on Asus VIP. I got an email back please update to the latest software. I still have dodgy problems with charging the battery on my phone from time to time with different usb connections, for example with a car usb charger, which is annoying since Tomtom floors the battery |

Hi, May I actually 'Ask Chris', and Paul too perhaps, a question? You obviously have a special relationship with Expansys, or at least a much closer one than I do, and what I would like to know is whether they, or indeed any of their customers, have actually managed to get ALK CoPilot Live 7 software working on the Asus M530W? I recently purchased one of these phones from them, and I see that they are now actually advertising CoPilot Live 7 as one of the 'Top Selling Accessories' for it. In view of my experiences, and many hours spent in unsuccessfully trying to install this particular program, I would be VERY interested to hear their reply. Many Thanks, 'Montala' (a.k.a. David) What would you expect the company to do? |

Wouldn't be unusual! The increments are set in the registry i believe... I've tried this one: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156544, too bad it didn't work. Let's see if somebody can figure out how we can fix this |

Heh, i don't think Celetask likes the M530w all that much Thanks for checking that! My phone however has been at 90% battery whole day, unchanged. That's impossible Opened a ticket with Asus VIP support. They should come back within 48h. Let's see what they say. update: Now back to 80% in one go. Does it maybe only measure in 10% increments? I also see 70% in your screen Monolithix! |

I thought lots of people we're actually using CeleTask, a decent small little program to manages background processes and normal processes! Here is a local mirror I made with the pc setup.exe and the .cab. http://www.xs4all.nl/~rkkoop/celetask Thanks. |

I have tried most of them, but can't seem to get it back to the way it was. As I am also having problems installing CoPilot Live 7 software, I think a full 'factory reset' is called for! Montala, can you quickly check what your battery status shows in CeleTask when you check it on your M530w? Thanks. |

Changing the subject slightly, when I first activated my Asus M630W the icon 'bar' (showing recently used programs) was below the carrier and time settings... now it is right at the top of the screen, with the time below it. I haven't changed anything intentionally, and wonder if anyone knows the reason for this? Thanks. Did you fiddle with any of the homescreen options? Try to re-apply them maybe and make sure you reboot after applying the theme. |

Even more interesting, it seems to go higher after some time of charge, but now when I check it says 70%, 80%, 90% or 100%. It seems to swap between these values, everything in between never shows up. One second it can be a 100%, and other second 90%. Weirdo? Random numbers? Please let me know if anybody else can measure voltage-levels with CeleTask, that would be an indication that mine is not reliable, or even, working at all. |

I've just installed the Fizz Monitor 3.2 - and this freeware tool you can get from the URL below. The status now reports 70%, let's see if I can get it fully charged. http://blogs.msdn.com/leonbrag/archive/200...smartphone.aspx |

Sounds like it's broken, I never charge devices when they first arrive (too impatient) and it makes no difference P I was too impatient, and now it actually shows two bars in the battery level measurement to my surprise. However, CeleTask still does not display the power levels properly. Would there be another WM6 app that can display power levels properly, like in voltages, what CeleTask does? Or did any of you guys check the power levels with the default CeleTask 2.2 (from the official website), and tried checking the battery status? Thanks for the quick support guys, much appreciated! |

Yup! P Done that, started reinstalling software again, and the battery level seems to be at the same level again. It actually reads in the manual that you should charge it fully before first use, so I'll leave it to charge while shutdown for two hours, and see what battery status it will report. I am using the official charger that came with the phone to do this. If that doesn't fix it, I'll guess RMA would be the best option! |

Mine is running 4.1.10 EU version.... P Got mine yesterday as well. It is also running v4.1.10_EU1, and it contained Dutch and Belgium profiles for GPRS as well, unlike what some other users experienced here. It even worked for my provider. My phone however seems to have a hardware flaw, it cannot see the status of the battery. It seems to charge, somewhat, but the status never changes. Also when I look for the battery info in CeleTask, it says that all voltages are 0v, so I suspect the phone cannot actually read out the battery status, which also causes other problems. Did anyone see this before? I think I will send it back to get a replacement, because it doesn't work like this. |

Hi All, first post here. Ordered a M530w yesterday, hope it will perform well! Still amazed to see so little people picking it up. I guess only a couple of hundred are sold in Europe? I looked on the Asus site tonight for software updates, and this is only thing I could find: m530w firmware Version V4.0.10 for Singapore user only. Source: http://support.asus.com/download/download....amp;model=M530W Anyone tried? update: Paul, will Modaco get an Asus m530w device specific section as well? Maybe that will get some enthousiast going with this phone |
