Yep, works great. It does take from 1 to 5 minutes to lock on to signals though. When i've needed it, it's been slow, when I want to show it to friends, it notoriously is fast, grrr.

Anyway, google and msn both work fine for me and I haven't seen the need for any others.

Incidentally i don't like msn in general but i love "live" for the voice searches and they have a more complete traffic report when u need to check it.

Google seems to still only follow the highways for traffic.

Because MSN live search is so complete, i just usually go to that one now

Just curious about this myself. See if turning the phone to silent on the call works. i.e. press power and use silent mode while on the call.

Next time I get a chance I'll give it a try also.

Hopefully it will silence my calendar alert as well while i'm on an "important" call. I have a slightly different prob where I want to keep the calendar alert on the screen but stop the sound in my ear.

Let me know how this works for u. Thanks

I actually started a thread because I wanted an answer to this too. So far I haven't gotten any replys except my own sad.gif

I actually don't get that login screen any longer either which is great, it was suggested it was a yahoo problem though but i strongly think it's att. On manual or auto set up it doesn't fix the problem.

As of this morning, I can't connect to yahoo mail. It's been like this for 2 weeks now. Off and on, most of the time I cannot send and recieve myself but if i leave the phone alone it will connect every 15 min and grab mail (i set it up that way).

Maybe since there are 2 or 3 of us with the problem now and maybe more, someone can suggest how to look into it or help us look into it.

It's annoying because i like to read my emails when i wake up and when the phone says no email, i don't like seeing 10 messages unread when i sit down and get ready to work.

Anyways, I am sending below the new "error" message I get, and yes the login problem seems to have stopped but now it's this.
I can check my gmail and other accounts just fine.

additional note: Just wanted to note as of this morning, my phone hasn't even been able to connect to yahoo mail on it's 15 min cycle.

Any ideas?

Another edit: Just because i'm addicted to my crackjack2 I tried the manual setup when i read this post, now i tried auto, and it works again. It's so annoying though. This is probably the 2nd or 3rd time in 2 weeks.

Oh yeah, I know about that. I use that everyday, Thanks though.

I was looking for a sleep timer so i could listen to my streaming XM or radio channels before i go to sleep and not have the music playing all night.

They all play through the Media Player. So I have a timer for the laptop versions but can't find one for the mobile version.

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has gotten a sleep timer for media player.

I saw a post the other day of someone who had created one but i navigated away and lost the post, no searches have brought me back so far.

I have 2 or 3 media players on the BJ2 now so I'm not really looking to download another one but none of them have sleep timers, if anyone has a good solution for just a sleep timer, that would be great.

Thanks

QUOTE(john redcorn @ Jun 16 2008, 22:14) *
I emailed ledalerts tech support and they said it was probably a registry error and to try a hard reset (sounds like a canned response) too much work for me to try right now with all the stuff I have on my phone, but I might one of these days.

If you don't want to pay for extra messages to test sms alerting you can go to your inbox, select a message and do "mark as unread" and that will make your sms led come on.

Yeah I have a feeling that a lot of answers are canned or just general answers, he gave me the answer that it alerts for txt msgs with txt but not pictures (MMS)

That's why I decided to ask you guys. Thanks for sharing your experience. I actually explained to the tech when i was trying it out that I pretty much have to reboot the phone every few days just for this program (or do what u did, stopping the program). After I found out how to "disconnect from wireless" here, that solved most of the phone issues in the past and I didn't want to go back to resets throughout the week.

The only time I know when i have to reset it is after I miss a message, that's not good, but it's an invaluable add on for me. I just leave the phone face down and let the light reflect off my desk when i am in a meeting or stare at the light when i walk around, it's so convenient.

I guess I can live with it.
Btw, the tip for the txt messages works great, the light "should" work I guess, it came right on.

Hope it works next time.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I recently purchased led alerts for my BJ2 and like it a lot, it alerts me to my emails 95% of the time and things on my schedule 100% of the time not to mention being able to leave it on silent at meetings instead of vibrate and reading the lights.

I just noticed the last few days that it doesn't alert me on text messages though. I tried changing the colors as a test but it doesn't seem to work. I don't get to test this too often because i pay for texting sad.gif but my friends send a msg or 2 every week and this weekend I noticed that no led alerts ever come up on txt messages.

Anyone else have that issue or is it just me? Once in a while led alerts doesn't alert of email either even with it set to the selection where it should keep track of unread email on the phone and flash indefinitely.

Just wanted to get some feedback here on your experiences and if I can get it to flash on txt messages and perhaps get it to flash on email 100% of the time.

I wonder if you guys on other phones with this addon have these issues too?

Thanks folks

How big is the card? Oh u said 4 g, I use a 4 Gig and it will not read in an older Sony computer or older usb 9 in 1 card reader.

It will read however in a newer HP computer I have and and ASUS EEE. I think it's something to do with the HC rating of the newer SD cards (HCSD for high capacity)

When u do copy videos over using the usb cable and active sync, it does copy over very slowly. I usually am ok with that though because it is also charging. I just leave it alone.

I think if u have an older computer, just over 2 years old or around there, it will have problems reading it. I would try a newer usb card reader or experiment with sticking the micro card in the adapter in a newer computer.

An older computer may be timing out also when copying. To give you an idea, when I copy 2 episodes of the Sopronos over to the card by usb cable, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes, it's easier than taking the card out and sticking in an adapter and into my computer though. Are those comparable times to what you are seeing? Mine completes the copy though.

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone had this issue and knows what's wrong.

I set up my yahoo account on the BJ2 to pick up email every 5 min. I've had the phone for a few months but just increased the interval from 15 min to 5 min.

Sometimes when using IE, the screen shifts back to the mail login screen for my yahoo account in the email section of the phone. It just jumps out of IE and over to the email settings to enter the name and password again. And ... it never takes it, it says it's incorrect.

But if i cancel and go back to ie or leave the phone alone, whatever, it still picks up the email just fine. I wonder if it's yahoo (telling me I am accessing my account to much and too quickly) or if it's the phone because it started shortly after I installed the Led Alerts app.

Qore functions says it's probably not the app, has anyone else had this issue?

Is it just ATT having problems? They don't admit to anything smile.gif so far.

Thanks

Try this, hit the power button and go to wireless manager and then disconnect cellular data.

then send yourself a test email and see if it picks up.

If that doesn't work, try powering down and then back up.

I think it's a deficiency in ATT's system if u're on that. I've had that problem for 2 years now over 2 phones, the 8525 and the BJ2

Hope that helps

Yea, I'm confused on which one he is talking about.

Hope u guys found it. It's only under google maps.

I found that after you "enable" my location, you may have to do it a few times but then select use GPS after each try and usually on the 2nd or 3rd try the GPS starts right up. After that it doesn't matter which program u switch to, the GPS will work.

My usual situation is that lately i get the gps working under google and then read the address into msn live maps. I love that voice feature. But anyways, i can't say I have much of a problem anymore and i don't have to eat up power waiting for the GPS to start up.

So give it a try, it should work for u.

Try this as well, there is a "my location" service under options, I think that is what it is called.

Go into that like you're going to disable it but instead hit the left soft key for "enable." So far, that seems to start my GPS right up when i need it.

Hey guys,

A weird problem that just started on my BJ2.

I can schedule things on my calander but I don't get any reminders anymore. I have tried disabling the auto time check, no difference, added appointments from outlook and my phone, no effect.

My phone won't remind me of things I have stuck on the calander to do but Outlook will on my computer.

Am I forgetting something? Could I have mistakenly switched a setting on my phone?

This is really weird and really bad. I need my phone to have the reminders enabled again.

Thanks

Edit: Just wanted to add in case someone else runs into this problem, a power off power on cycle seems to have resolved the issue so far. Reminders are working again. Why would it need that? Anyone know? Is there anyway I can make sure the reminder feature is working or should i power off / on every few days? I already have to do that once a week or so when it can't log onto the internet (that 502 request error that some other ppl get). Att has said that's needed if there is an upgrade to "the programming" ??? I think it's just an excuse but everything works fine after a power cycle. It's a hassle though because u never know when it's not going to work.

Hi I'm hoping this will help someone out there but I finally got my GPS working, it even knows what side of the house i'm on, it's so cool.

I can lock up to 5 or 6 satellites at one time too. I wish i had this working last week when I got lost repeatedly on foot and in the car sad.gif

Anyways. I have MS live, Google maps, and the Modaco gps activator installed.

Not touching anything else, I uninstalled the google ap and reinstalled it.

It was that easy, don't change any com settings at all. Just leave the settings the way they are. I changed them to the recommended com4 and it stopped working. I did change it back and it works again though, but i recommend not changing the default settings at all, don't even go to the menu, it should work.

I am just guessing but I installed the google maps ap from my desktop instead of over the air, maybe that had something to do with it but now that that is reinstalled, they all work fine. That means i can use google maps because it's faster or MSN when I just want to speak an address when i am driving for example. Very nice.

It took me 2 weeks trying different things off and on, this finally did it. Hope it works for all u guys.

Edit: forgot to mention I have a BJ2 and as people have said before, Cycle the power off and on before testing.
