QUOTE(MaxPayne79 @ Jun 28 2008, 22:49) *
With nearly six thousand posts under ur belt i'd figure that u'd understand how the phone industry works but...then again maybe not. (ur answer was extremely useless)

Let me explain it to you...

I have the fido unlimited voice plan..okay...no one offers this anywhere else. I also have the fido unlimited email plan...many phone carriers offer this. In order to keep my unlimited voice plan...because after all i do make between 1000 to 1500 minutes worth of calls a month...i have to stay with fido. okay..we're good so far??? wink.gif

In order to continue getting my unlimited email i have to use a fido handset because if i don't, i will get charged additional data that i'll have to pay for...supposedly. And in order for the email to remain "free", i have to use a fido branded handset because they IMEI lock they're phones..apparently. AND...they offer ONLY two handsets with full keyboards. And both have Windows Rubbish 6.0 on them....NOW...

This bothers me very very much because as much you don't wanna see me bitchin' about how lame this phone is, i don't wanna be using it. Even though i figured out the media card thing (just restart the phone) and i discovered Facade (with a serial number wink.gif , and the app unlock thing and the graphics and system speed boost hacks, it's still windows mobile...hence why im a mac user..

And that's another thing...I can't believe there are people out there still using windows...a barely sustainable archaic OS from the 70s...lol...At least go and use Ubuntu or something till u learn how to use a real os.

Anyway...So my question to ya'll is...is there anyway around this IMEI lock so i can use any phone i want...and have my email plan intact?

OR is any of this IMEI # locking rubbish even true????

What would happen if id just simply set up email on another phone???
would it work?

thanx for any info you guys can share..

MaxPayne

hahahahahahahahahahah you come into a WINDOWS MOBILE forum and start bashing people for using windows, and then expect help. That's funny, why don't you go to a mac forum and you can all sit around singing kum bi ya. That might solve your problem.

QUOTE(hagie92 @ Jun 17 2008, 20:42) *
Hello,

Today I made a usual call to my dad, he could hear me, but said it was extremely hard. I thought maybe it was his phone, but after calling and testing it with several people, I found it was mine. I restarted the phone, and it still isn't working. It just stopped! I havent installed anything new, or the such, and since they can hear me some, I wonder if it has to do with the ROM or drivers, not the actual Microphone. Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks,

Hagie92

try taking a voice note and see if it works then. Also if you have a headset try using that, it might be that something got screwed up with the volume settings for the mic.

only one way to find out. Try making calls with and without 3G turned on and see what happens.

3G is a data transfer method so if you don't have a data plan and don't want to use data then turn it off.
If you really don't want to use any data then either delete your data connections or use nodata.cab to disable them - then you won't be git by any GPRS charges either.

Btw, WMDC does have a Add/Remove Programs Option - One has to click More... in the lower right corner of the Program and Services panel to bring up that option. Why was this option not located on the main page of Program and Services?... is a mistery to me.

I'm testing SKTools Standard Trial Version. This tool has an Add/Remove Programs function. It looks very promising,

because it's vista and nothing makes sense

Hi all, my first post here.

Anyone know if there is some way that I can disable the 1 and 9 keys from turning on the screen when my BJII is key-locked? My BJII case keeps pressing those buttons all day and it destroys my battery life. My case is unable to press the power button though.

Thanks!

I doubt it. That's a safety feature so you can still dial 911, with out unlocking the phone.

sry if this is a stupid question(considering this is my first post) but im using then vista cardwheel and was wondering if you could change the background picture. whenever i try i get an error screen.

no not really with those type of screens all of the "cards" are a separate screens that has the same background and different stuff in front, like calendar and all that. So if you want to have a different background you're going to have to modify all of the separate screens, there are like 7 or something.

does anyone know how to share internet through PC to their phone? either through bluetooth or cable. im one of those poor slobs who does not have a data plan and some of the things i want to do requires internet through the phone. until the micro wifi card comes out, i have to use the old copy over method. im not putting all my money on the micro card anyway, i cant imagine the range will be worth anything. thanks.

I read this on a different forum I haven't tried it 'cause I have the unlimited data but it seems that it should work.

QUOTE
It's easy... You choose a network in the activesync setup. It says "what network does this computer connect to?" Choose work. Hit Ok.

On your phone:
Go to Start --> Internet Explorer
let that load up.
Then go to "Menu" (Right soft key) ---> Tools --> Options.
Open it.
Choose "Connections"
In connections where it says "Select Network" Choose "WORK".
Click "Done" (Left Soft Key)

now, when you connect the Phone to your PC, you can surf the web without using your Data Plan. You can setup the E-mail Options to do the same. I sync my E-mail this way cause I don't pay for Data. It's great cause I can just Sync My Mail and go. Then read it on the way, and reply, and it won't send the replies till I plug it back in. Which is cool with me.

Anyway... I hope that's somewhere on here.. cause.. well.. that was easy to figure out. no Avant Go Needed. As longs as WAP isn't chosen I don't get billed. and the other nice thing is that if something tries to connect to IE, it doesn't work if its no connected to the PC.. so no accidental charges there... MUAAHAHHAHAA

You should try to expand on this or try teaking other ones as well... Great Job... wink.gif

what else do you want on it? or what others do you want me to try and modify

For those of you poor souls using Vista it's one redeeming feature over XP is WMDC. It works so much better than ActiveSync, the problem though is it doesn't have an icon for the Blackjack II. Not anymore biggrin.gif

Use your cable not bluetooth for this.

Copy the sync.ico into the root of your /windows directory on your phone through the explore your device option on WMDC. Your going to have to enable show system files from windows explorer

after you have copied it go to your control panel and look for device manager. Under device manager look for portable devices, then delete your phone(it's probably going to be labeled "smartphone")

disconnect your phone from the cable and wait 30 seconds or so then plug it back in. Your computer should reinstall the drivers for your phone and when you open WMDC you should see a picture of a BJII now.

Am I missing something? I have a BJII and it doesn't have a scroll wheel? I had the original BJ it had the scroll wheel. when I got the II, the missing scroll wheel was a very big deal. Is there a different release of the II that has the wheel??

The center D pad also spins in circles so you can scroll up and down. But to be honest I have had no problems with it being unresponsive.

It's in the Organizer folder in the start menu. So if you run it once it'll show up on the topbar on your today screen.

Yeah I found Shozu and use it to automaticlly dump any new photo's to flickr but I didn't see anything for automaticly geotag them.
