OK so I thought that you have to do some tweaks to #3 after you enable 320x240 in the registry but as it turns out you do not.

I guess the issue some people are having is playback @ that res. After a bunch of tests, the issue is that you can record as much video as you want, but as soon as you fire up Media Player 10, if you try to record after that's running, you basically cant (at least I'm not able to.. and I know some others can't either). Basically you have to a simple reboot on the Q so that WM10 is not running to record the videos again.

Is there some sort of a processes manager or something that you can use to manually kill apps that bog down the phone for whatever reason? No way I can see to "exit" WM10 after you start it up.

thanks.

Find a way to hack it up so that the OS support icons beyond 256 colors.. like 16bit+ and I'll be impressed smile.gif Then we can actually make our WM6 screens look sweet.

Nice.

I dont remember where I found this offhand but another reg tweak is you can search for Startup & Shutdown to get rid of that silly G3 animation, along with decreasing the display time of the "Windows Mobile" logo startup image. This makes ur phone basically shutdown instantly, and startup in 1/2 the time.

(edited post: removed 320x240 stuff I had in here before because it was my mistake/misinformation. Turns out it was Media Player 10's fault).

Ah I figured it out. 88Saleen this will probably work for you also.

Go back to the registry/almost the same place but a bit deeper instead:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\Camera\OEM\VideoProfile\3\VideoEncoderProperty\3\ and edit the VideoPropertyVT value to something like 10 (mine was set to 45)
At least from starters that game me OK playback. I'm sure you can tamper in there with those settings & get it to give you desirable results.

I'll continue to snoop in there & see if I can improve things further.

Hope that helps smile.gif

I tried this out and yes I'm able to record @ that res (after you switch res option that's now available), but the playback is really bad/choppy. I tampered with the playback options (full screen or not) and still the same result.

You guys are getting smooth playback? Do I need to edit anythign in #3 in the registry for framerate or such?

Hello,

Is there a way to break the limit on icons so that you can go beyond 256 colors.. 16bit with proper alpha channel. I'm swapping out the icons with my own creations but the limit to 256 colors really sucks. I don't see why I can't make my 9h look at good as the iPhone (which is all about the high-res icons.. and I could if I did not have this limit, heh).

Also, is there a Voyager file-browser app for WM6? The version/.cab I got didnt let me install & I can't find anything else. I'd like to kill some of the files in \Windows that are large & I dont need anymore (for example, startup & shutdown 3G graphic/animation that are almost a meg each & I killed those from the registry from showing up at all on startup or shutdown) but I cant modify the permission/file properties.

If there is an alternative to Voyager, please suggest smile.gif

Thanks.
