Im trying to run Pocket GnuBoy on my Blackjack II (320x240 res landscape screen) .. I have to run pocket gnuboy at 160x144 and even then i have strange video artifacts all around the play window which is just a small portion of the screen. Thoughts on how to make the screen size/experience better?

at $200 the iphone is pretty hard to ignore .. with the SDK being released there are going to be a ton of great apps coming out (for pay, i know -- i cant speak to the non-apple approved development scene, ala jailbreak, etc). For its size, capabilities and price point, its going to be hard to find a WinMo phone that can go head to head with it .. especially since Safari on the iphone blows any WinMo browser ive tried (pocket ie, opera, deepfish) out of the water (i havent gotten my skyfire beta yet) .. its only real cons are the lack of a tactile qwerty keyboard, and getting tied to at&t's craptastic iphone plans.

this is coming from a WinMo Smartphone fan (that loves his qwerty keyboard!)

Have you updated your Blackjack to Windows Mobile 6 (or did it ship with WM6 Standard)?

If so check out myblackjack2.com .. its a site i put together for the Blackjack 2 but 90% of the content should work with the Blackjack (as long as its upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 Standard)

What exactly fo you use Flash Lite for ... as I understand it, its a standalone flash file player .. i cant think of any uses for that?? If it allow you to play embedded flash files in PocketIE or Opera that would be a different story ... Can you give an example or two of when you use Flash Lite?

Sure - I've created a CAB installer for PocketNesterPlus 0.9 that that includes the tgetfile.dll and creates a shortcut in Start Menu > Games .. All you have to do is run the installer and everything should work for you.

Is there a known method for application unlocking any WM 6 Standard Smartphone (non-touchscreen)? Is the application unlocking phone specific or OS specific?

I have to agree that non-touchscreen devices seem to be going the way of the dinosaur.. it just doesnt seem like there are that many floating around. Off the top of my head i can think of the Moto Q, Blackjack/2, Dash ..

If windows mobile devices are all going to touchscreen (WM Pro) i really hope they figure out how to slim the phone down. Every WM Pro phone ive seen with a hard QWERTY keyboard is a brick -- i cant imagine carrying those things around in my pocket.

Try application unlocking your phone. I suggest using the MoDaCo GPS Hack/Application Unlocker.

Don't forget to restart your phone after installing the MoDaCo unlocker.

Chris - I removed the Missed Calls line because of the "Missed Calls" notification icon that appears in the top left. The was really pressed for space when the "Missed Calls" line was in it. If i could figure out how to make the Missed Calls plugin disappear (but still take up its alotted space) I might make a new version with it in .. I think removing the Missed Calls line makes the theme much cleaner.

Oh yeah - if anyone knows how to keep the "Missed Calls" plugin from collapsing when <format state="nocall" visible="false"/> let me know! Right now the "Missed Calls" text stays on the screen even if there arent any (it then reads: "Missed Calls: 0")

Update: I've removed the "Missed Calls: X" line from the Theme. If there is a missed call the standard "Missed Call" icon appears to the left of the apple icon.

Choose a different Theme (Settings > Display > Home Screen) or edit the Theme's XML file (found in Application Data/Home).

I havent bought LEDAlerts but and seriously considering it -- can anyone comment on how it effects batterly life? Im assuming the LED power draw is so small its a non-issue -- but if its on overnight, will this effect the battery life in any noticable way?

I noticed that even after an App Unlock I could NOTdelete/replace protected files from the Blackjack 2's File Explorer. When I connected from my PC to my blackjack 2 using USB/ActiveSync, I COULD delete the protected files (MediaNet.exe, camera_shutter*.snd, etc.)

I use the InvisibleShield for my blackjack2. Its not a case but very thin pieces of clear "plastic" that go on over the blackjack 2. Its very scratch resistent. You have to be careful when apply it though -- dont let any fuzz get on it until its full dried (they suggest 24 hours).

Also - it comes off pretty easily so if you get sick of it youre not stuck with it.

I read on another forum that someone purchased a replacement screen on ebay for about $40 and had someone install it for $30 -- I think it was on the att wireless forums. From what i remember it was ALOT cheaper than having at&t/samsung service the phone.

This happens to me and it occurs whenever I get a exchange pushes mail to me or when my gmail account syncs (every 10 mins) and pulls down an e-mail. My LED blinks purple a couple times when this happens.

Im not sure how to prevent this happening, but thats when it happens.
