Hi there! Sometimes I got the problem that the PPC Profiles are not visible. There is just a blank space instead of the buttons. If I check off the plugin, return to today and re-check its visible. As I said, its only sometimes...has anyone got an idea??? Thanx Dirk Yeah its something thats been a pain for a while and very hard to narrow down. Could be how many plugins you have on your todayscreen or a conflict with another. |

Hey all, I'm really curious to know if theres anything already out there that can deal with / manage Cell Broadcasts? I have the HTC Wizard (o2 XDA Mini S) and find it's so pointless being able to get cell broadcasts when it wont do anything with the data it gets. When I get the Area Code info it just pops up as a notification saying message from the operator with the area code. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds this annoying / pointless. If theres nothing out there I'd love to see a today screen plugin that would show you the info. Dj Hi PocketMax has some software call phoneAlarm which can display your cell location etc. Check it out. |

Are repeating notifications on your development list? This is something Ive looked into on wm2005 but it will cost a bit of cash to do as I think it will have to be certified with a certificate. Stupid security?!? 1. Show the missed calls in a textline and 2. Show the Signalstrengh and provider connected to. Sounds good |

when adjusting the more -> settings -> notification page on the bottom tool line are two arrow buttons. One to the left the other to the right. I guess these buttons are for navigating through profiles (silent to normal etc) but it do not work. it changes the pulldown list topics. Hi Homer-S These buttons save and move to the next/previous notification type and not the next profile. Just a bit easier than going back to the drop down list but of course you still can use the drop down list. |

Thanks Bretto for this great app. Is there already a 2006 upgrade? Hi there Just looking into this now. I have a lot of feedback to go thru and still not enough time but I hope to get something out in a while. wm2005 is a different animal to wm2003(se) so everyone needs to be prepared for some product testing before going live with this sort of app. |

PPCProfiles-Pro is designed for wm2003se. Any changes MS have made from the default of wm2003se to wm2005 wil not be reflected in the software. If your looking for a brilliant program for wm2005 you might like to check out phoneAlarm from pocketMax. It is much much more comprehensive than PPCProfiles-Pro...but then it isnt free either. I just dont know when I will get time to update this app. At the moment I have so many committments and two trashed development systems standing in my way. When I do Ill let you know. There is always the full source code available on this site for anyone who is interested. |

hi davidgelb Thanks for that. At the moment the popup is hardwired to the setup program. It is possible to change it but unfortunately at the moment I cannot get to a development platform. As soon as I can I will look at it for you. The leds are able to be controlled but I have found that the code to do so causes problems with some earlier iPaqs. For this reason I have taken out led control for now. Possibly I will be able to make a separate version for new models and older ones. Over the next month or so Im hoping to free up some time to update PPCProfiles-Pro so everyone can get more features and more compatability with wm2005. |

QUOTE(sooby77 @ Mar 8 2006, 06:23) That is the exact problem I am having. I figured it must be a registry issue. Can the developer kindly look into this problem? Thanks, and keep up the wonderful work. Please be advised that this application has been tried and tested for wm2003 and wm2003se only. No development updates have been made for wm2005. People have tried it on other platforms with success but you should always backup your device if wishing to try it out. I have upoaded the source code if anyone wants to debug the apps for wm2005 but for now I havent the time to do so. Possibly in the future I will when MS has ironed out all the wrinkles with wm2005. As far as hard resetting your device is concerned, I think this is a little extreme for what alterations PPCProfiles-Pro makes to the registry. As stated above clear out your rings directory setting in the registry as this is all that gets altered when changing from the default ringtone location. |

Sounds like the app that sets the vibrate mode on the above devices isnt saving the existing settings from the registry properly. The following is what ppcprofiles ring types are based on when setting the registry for ring types. QUOTE Phone Ringtone Script [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0]change the value of "Script" heres the code a - stands for display r - repeat/replay the script again c - sets the volume C50, c150, c100 f - means flash .. f1 flash for 1 second and f0 stands for flash continuously p -means play ringtone v- vibrate then incorporate with number to state how many seconds it will vibrate example. v3 vibrate for 3seconds or v0 for continous w - stands for wait or pause then specify how many seconds like w3(wait for 3 seconds) heres the example Flash - af1w60f0 Ring - apw3r Ring Once - ap Increasing Ring - c50apw3c150r Vibrate Then Ring - v3w3apw3r Vibrate - av3w3r Short Vibrate - av1w3r Vibrate Long Then Ring - v3w3v3w3apw3r Vibrate And Ring - av0pw3r Increasing Ring And Vibrate - c50apv3w3c150r Fast Vibrate And Flash - af1v1w1f0r Vibrate and Ring Continously without pausing - av0pr I havent upgraded ppcprofiles-pro to wm2005 specifically so there is the possibility that there is an incompatabiity also. Hope this makes sense. |

QUOTE(Sogarth @ Feb 16 2006, 00:27) For whatever reason, the list of ringtones shown in PPCProfiles Pro doesn't show some of the ringtones shown under Settings -> Phone -> Phone -> Ring tone. I don't know if it's because some of the songs I have listed there are using extended characters (in my case, Japanese SJIS), but even some of the songs that don't have extended characters aren't showing up. I'm not sure what's happening, but it's a bit annoying, since it keeps on setting my ringtone back to Alarm1.wav (which is a rather... unimpressive ringtone, to say the least). That ringtone program will use a search path to find the ringtones (including whatever the rings directory is in the registry). Its possible that your operating system is including directories in the search path that ppcprofiles does not. To keep things simple you might like to make sure your rings directory is correct and add all your ringtones to that directory. |

QUOTE(JeremyT @ Feb 17 2006, 18:58) I too am having this issue, and searched the site for how to do this. I cannot find anything relevant. Can you post a link to the relevant postings. Thanks, Jeremy There is a registry setting that you can change to allow ringtones from the SD card or any directory. Use a registry editor such as phm registry editor and modify the follow key item. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Directory Change this value to \Windows\Rings\ or \Storage Card\ or add a subdirectory if you like. Dont forget the leading and trailing backslash. I hope this helps. |

Did you change where your ringtones are via ppcprofiles-pro? if so you would have changed the registry value of where the ringtones are installed. Try editing the registry manually back to \Windows\Rings\ You can do a search on this site to find out how to do this. Hope this helps. |

QUOTE(JeremyT @ Jan 26 2006, 01:52) I have a PPC 6700 running WM 5.0, and have installed the latest version of PPCProfilesPro which is a very nice app. However the auto sync mode works on meetings which have been scheduled very recently, but not on one which has been on my outlook calendar for a while. If I create a new meeting then it switches fine, which makes it hard to test. Any suggestions? Jeremy Not sure whats going on there. All that happens when your in auto sync mode is that at certain intervals ppcprofiles checks to see if outlook has an appointment starting on or before the current time. if so then is the end of the appointment after the current time. if so then it switches to the auto profile. if not then it finds the next appoinment and passes the start and end times to the operating system as a notification to run the helper app to switch profile at those times. Pretty simple logic really but it is as the mercy of windows to run at the correct time. |

QUOTE(antlane @ Jan 25 2006, 12:20) Is there any way of setting the reminder / new message notification volumes separately to the system volume? I'd like to have quiet notifications but still keep the system volume high. It's so easy to do on my C500! As far as I know there are only the three volumes so unless you use something that intercepts the notification then sets the volume your stuck with whatever the system volume is set to. PPCProfiles only set the registry value for the system volume which inturn the notification application uses. |

QUOTE(scottb @ Jan 16 2006, 14:51) @dan13l, I don't believe you can do either of those things with PPCProfiles Pro. I do know that Tweaks2k2.net can eliminate the time between rings. correct. I never got around to adding the option to create your own ringer settings script. you can do it in the registry. do a search on ringer script settings and you will find everything you need to know to do it using a registry editor. |

QUOTE(darioaltea @ Jan 19 2006, 03:13) Hi, My work pda phone is aa PDA2K-EVDO device. I have installed ppcprofiles v3a (great app, I forgot profiles even existed until I saw your post). But I have a problem when I plug my headset into the device. On incoming calls the ringer only rings through the headset, it no longer comes through the device speaker. I have had to uninstall ppcprofiles to have the ability to hear incoming calls ringer again. Any ideas on why this is happening ??? Hi The app doesnt do anything tricky with the ringer of the device. All should work as per normal. All the app does is edit the registry settings which the phone app uses when it gets the incoming call. Cheers Bretto |
