Is there an easy call to get user phone number or read it from the registry?

USing c# compact opennet etc.

All want to do is hard code a number in my program so it will only work on a unique device it has been programmed for.

Thanks

hmm, if the C600 and the newer handsets now have API features that can record conversation surely someone on here will come out with a free unencrypted version - anyone want to collaborate?

Hi here the C550 is out and was wondering what things have been added that alot of ppl have talked about since the inception of smartphone, so can anyone tell me what i am missing, i got a c500 and I need some protection from the MuthaInLaw (MIL).

1) Programmable Infra Red - For controlling the Tv/Video/Dvd/MuthaInLaw
2) Voice Recorder - Recording the MuthaInLaw swearing and abusing you
3) Cam Flash - Capture the MuthaInLaw throwing punches at you in the dark !
4) USB Mass Storage Mode - Use your SD Card as a USB storage device - Anything she dont understand is a good thing !
5) Webcam Mode - Connect to Pc to use the camera for CTV - In case the MuthaInLaw attacks
6) All those other things that ppl think of that dont get integrated - except for Pro-MuthaInLaw type ideas which I daren't think of....

QUOTE(Confucious @ May 21 2005, 18:20)
If you want a phone that's as big as a DVB box that's up to you. I don't.

And I'm quite happy paying my TV licence fee - it's a lot cheeper than my Sky fee and better programs most of the time too wink.gif
*

Hey, you can get DVB decoders on a USB module that is is the size of a mobile phone (albeit from the early 90s hehe), but it won't be long before the whole thing will be able to fit onto a typical footprint like a USB memory device.

PLEASE I HOPE AND WISH that some company out there releases a mobile with integrated DVB decoder for free view TV! The signals for watching digital tv are there and are free - I dont like Orange's idea of charging 10 pounds to watch what is basically free to view digital tv, all because they retransmit it on their 3g network - disgusting really.

About as sick as the BBC TV license really! About time BBC scramble their content and let people pay for decryptors -

BBC TV Licenses go against human rights surely - forcing people to pay for a service that they might not even want , just because they bought a device that can view its transmissions, about time they encrypt it and survive on a commercial standing like Sky I say!. You can't even buy a telly without filling in a declaration! :x

Well nuff of the ranting - but watch out of BBC TV License requirements on mobile phones that can pick-up any form of TV transmission !!!!

Here's a free util that does similar thing I wrote last year,

Includes all main, daily, euro, thunderball games, dice (bit buggy), magic answers, and original coin throw mode, and a golden egg pic of me if you can find it!

Create a folder Storage\Program Files\WhoaYeah and extract the contents of the zip to it.

You may want to create a shortcut to it to run it or execute it from using a file explorer, like File Manager on C500.

Some very simple things to be implemented on the Smartphone, why are these items being overlooked by the big players? These items are not 'hi-tec' at all, but without them being thought of during the design process you gonna have a job half trying to implement them at a software level only!!!

1) IR Remote Control Capability / With learning mode!!!
2) Call Capture (as this thread suggests)
3) Lots of other things...

Obviously, when the technology advances we all want...

1) Digital TV tuner - So we can pick up freeview signals to watch TV :-)
2) DAB Tuner - Digital Radio :-)
3) Some sort of interface conversion ports - So we connect our Pc keyboards, mice, svga screens to the phone via some sort of adaptor
4) One day I want my mobile to be my PC base unit! (with built in games console, x-box3 mode hehe) - not asking much is it really? give or take a decade or two, i can see it happening!

How do we know this app is for real, it could just be generating randon answers from a list, anyone proved this app actually works, ie do the results coincide with traffic information from BBC etc? The author doesn't really say where he sources his information from ? Hmm could even be a trojan...eek time for immediate disposal!

I note when using the loop feature on wav files (like the ones i've posted), and you click 'snooze' part of the sample (wav) will loop indefinatley requiring a reboot of the phone.

Appears to happen if the alarm has rang out multiple times.

Possible fix to this is for your app to play a very short silent wav file without loop before exiting/snoozing - I had to do this in my whoa yeah app!

tip: programming in c++ is not something you can pick up easily, for starters you either need a passion for programming or have studied in some form 'software engineering' - if your aim and interest is in the football management program and not programming in c++ then you probably do not have the right motive to learn c++.

If you are as passionate about learning c++ and programming as you are football then you may have metal to do it. Start by checking out the sample programs that come with your vc++, compile them, alter them, learning cause and effect is an excellent teacher and a good starting point.

You will need the .net cf or embeeded vc++ v4 from ms to create programs for smartphone (not just vc++ v6 or .net).

I think you be better off explaining in detail what you want your application to do - maybe some dev who loves football will do you a favour smile.gif sorry, i loathe football laugh.gif

The problem with this type of application is that it is always going to be dependent on the developer updating his info every week, I doubt very much that will happen unless he can interface the app with some sort of xml-soap web service that can provide reliable up-to-date listings.

I don't think it counts at present but I can see the whole license software/music thing heading in the way most other things of value have gone.

For instance money, if buy something for £5 with a legal £10 note and you are given some mickey mouse £5 note in change, doesn't give you the right to use that fake money legally.

Owning a cloned psx ii game even though you paid for an original could still be looked at as stolen property.

I think the argument for backing-up licensed products in-case of loss or damage will soon be eradicted by the use of new technology that will use some form of personalised id and key encryption on all digital devices to allow only the rightful registered owner to play, execute, read and write a digital product.

If you lose the media, then you should be able to obtain a copy for free or at the cost of the physical media (downloads i guess would be free). The content would be useless to anyone else unless you lend them (or they steal) your device too.

Hey, I'm gonna in touch with the big players on this one, i'm sure MGM, Sony and other fat companies would be interested in this idea... laugh.gif

Hey, I can never get this program to work, it connects to internet then it tries to connect to irc.bt.net.com. Then nothing.

Sometimes I get Error

' An unexpected error has occurred in Smartirc.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program , or select Details for more information.'

Could not find resource assembly.

Clicking Details you get...

SmartIrce.exe SocketException Could not find resource assembly.

Application::Run+0xf IrcNet::Main+0x10

I am using SPV E200 (ROM II) on Orange contract 200 min XNetwork Anytime, with 3MB World package.

It would be nice to see this program working as I got one of those nifty roll-up keyboards

Thanks Kenny, I just downloaded the latest and greatest and it's looping nicely. I set loops to 8 and works fine.

Here's a funky loop for y'all to wake up to in the morning, 8-bit 22.khz so nice and small 40 KB.

I note the alarm will play 8 bars, 3 times, is there a place where you can set how many time alarm rings out? (sorry for asking, probably an answer in this thread somewhere).

8)

In theory you could record your protected audio files by running up something like 'cool edit' or other audio recording software and record it as it plays. You would need to use the 'volume control' app in 'AccessoriesEntertainment' menu supplied by the OS. Goto Options...properties and select the recording option in the 'Adjust Volume' section. Untick everything in volume controls accept for 'Stereo Mix'. and click ok. Most sound cards these days support this facility.

Now when you record in the app it will record any sound being played by any application at that time, snip the silence at the beginning and end of the wave form and save.

Save file as wav (later versions of cool edit support mp3), then do as you please with it...

Of course this is theory and in practice the resultant file is probably deemed as 'piracy'. I neither condem or condone some forms of piracy  but then again who am I 8)

QUOTE
Is that Octamed on the Amiga by any chance??? Still have a few amiga disks with tunes I use to knock up with that program many, many years ago tongue.gif I don't mess with sequencers in general but that program made it great fun! Did you also have the audio ripper software which would playback the entire memory for samples - data aswell biggrin.gif ?

Yeah, Octamed for the Amiga - I had Megalosound Sampler cartridge, twas great fun, my best track I done was called 'The Way' - all done on Amiga, I will have to MP3 it and upload it.

Didn't have audioripper, one thing we use to do when sampling, due to limited memory was speed up the vinly to 75rpm stylee, sample it then drop it down an octave or too, this way we use to get a good few bars of samples in albeit noisey ones :-). I did use octamed for Pc for a little while but it was never as solid as Amiga version - If you can copy your old amiga med files to a PC floppy you should be able to play your old chewns using the pc version - for some reason my amiga floppies cannot be read in a PC - which is a shame :-(

Jumpers for goalposts an all that...

Thanks for the info kennyg, im in the process of downloading embedded c++ v4, i do c++ coding for a living (well i shout 'yeehaar' alot and hack and whack to the best of my abilities laugh.gif ) so it should be easier for me to code in c++ with regard to TAPI then mess around with c# and .net.

In Main Options Menu

Can't edit loops per ring correctly, if i press back symbol to delete '1' it exits...so can only create 11 loops at a minimum - does this option need to be there as it works ok when setting up a new alarm.
