I saw a post on MGN where a person is using a 2GB. I assume you can use any size since it's basically a cardreader. The 512 limit is just a manufacturer listed limit since that's all that was available at the time they released the phone. There are numerous people using the 1GB cards.

Is there any way to have the phone flip-up ear piece active in addition to the bluetooth (BT) headset? The problem I have is when my BT is active and I get a call, only the headset in enable. A lot of times I'm not wearing it (like when I'm at work or at home) so when I get a call my first reaction is to just pick up my phone, flip it open and answer the call (using only the phone). I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a call and picked up the phone and said...hello...hello..., only to realize my BT headset is sitting 4 feet away and the caller is talking and wondering what the heck is going on...

In short, is there a setting somewhere where I can have the BT active and still answer a call through the phone the normal way? Maybe I'm missing something here...

Has anyone tried one in the MPx220? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but was curious if anyone actually tested or was using one...???

Since I'm in the process of purchasing an MPX220 locked to Cingular, this interests me... would you please let me know if it all worked out and you got the code?

Called them on Saturday. It's now Wednesday and still haven't heard back yet. Keeping my fingers crossed... I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Does anyone have experience with calling Cingular - USA for the unlock code? I just called Cingular today (I'm an AT&T customer) and reached a fairly knowledgable CSR. He noticed I wasn't in the Cingular database and asked if I was an AT&T customer. I told him I was, and then he suggested I call them for support issues. I then told him that I think I needed to talk to someone at Cingular because I had a Cingular MPx220 and I wanted the unlock code so I could use it on the AT&T network (I also told him I travel extensively). He then proceeded to ask me questions like - what the IMEI # of the phone was, my phone contact info., and where I got the phone. I told him the phone was given to me as gift (and it was).

He seemed fairly honest and said he submitted the request to the unlocking group and that it usually takes 2~5 days to get response back. He said he would call me back when he had the unlock code. Is this usual?

He gave me no indication he was doing anything other than submitting a request for the code, but after thinking about it, he may have been asking me those questions to look up and see if it was a stolen phone. I mean, he didn't tell me they had a policy against giving out the codes or anything and didn't really put up any resistance to my request for the code.

Well, I'm hoping he is just getting the code, but if anyone else has experience with this sort of call to Cingular, I sure would like to hear what you think and how your call/request went.

If your keypad isn't lighting at all, I would suspct a hardware issue.

Well, that certainly fixed the problem (I set mine to a value of 20). But be forewarned, this also overrides the display timeout setting in the Power Management panel. No big deal to me since I don't use my phone a lot and usually have it plugged into a charger when in my car and at home, but it will definitely impact battery resources if you're not careful. Especially if you have it set to a high value...

Thanks for the tip, pembo! :-)

Mine worked just fine until I did the WM2003 upgrade. Now, perhaps it's more the ROM build than the OS, but with all the WM2002 builds I've used in the past, the the VM counter always worked as expected.

Same here. I finally just edited my homescreen page and removed VM count entry because it was so annoying. I never did pay much attention to it anyway since I can see I have VM by the tape icon on the top system bar. But yes, there's definitely a few little "querks" with WM2003.

Anyone know how I can remove that darn link at the top of the Speed Dial menu? The thing is basically useless and just takes up space and makes me tab/scroll more than I need to.

Since upgrading to WM2003 I noticed the keypad lights only stay on for a few seconds. It seems they stayed on longer w/2002 so I was wondering if there's a registry tweak that can be made to keep them on for a longer period of time? Or is this something that needs to done at the ROM level?

You probably need to load GMS-fix. I had the "G" all the time and it was discharging my battery at a rapid rate. Since I loaded the GMS-fix, no more "G" and all is well again.

Yep, sure enough... ipcai's process fixed my battery issue too. The GSM fix is the real fix, though. I just didn't load it when I first flashed my phone figuring I didn't need it. I highly recommend people do it right after they perform the WM2003 flash because you'll end up doing it anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I did what ipcai did at the bottom of the thread below (see hyperlink). I'll see if it works tomorrow when the phone is off the charger.

I just upgraded and eveything works except the power consumption/battery life lasts about 5 hrs. (not 5 days like the OP stated). Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions/solutions?

Has anyone had an issue with WM2003 and power management? I loaded WM2003 on my MPx200 yesterday and the battery is draining rapidly. I had it connected to the charger overnight, but it just flashed a warning about it being low. This never happened until now.

For now, I can't tell if it's just a setting that I need to tweak or if WM2003 is having a problem and sapping the battery and/or not allowing it to charge (which would be bizzare). It appears the phone is turning off when I close the earpeice/lid...

Has anyone else had any trouble like this with WM2003?
