That's the same choice I was looking at a couple of months back.
3G swung it for me (never use WiFi any more)

The I600 (Euro version of the Blackjack) does NOT yet have an official WM6 ROM released on any network that I'm aware of.

Keys are generally fine. Some apps (Papyrus for example) don't know it has a QWERTY keypad and insist on input using the T9 of the numeric buttons. Fine in principal, but the corresponding letters (eg: 2=abc, 3=def etc) aren't on the keys so you have to think about it!
I still make some typos, but not many now I'm used to it. I have fairly fat fingers too.

Battery life is OK normally. 1.5 days is fine for my needs, but you can get an extended battery if you want. For some reason over the last 4+ days the battery has died before bed time (used to last comfortably from 6am - 11pm). I don't think it's the batteries though - I suspect badly behaved apps.

I don't have a video ipod to compare too.
I600 Pros:
Thin and light - easily pocketable in suit trousers
Nice screen
QWERTY
Scroll wheel
Programmable side "Back" button
Loads of RAM

I600 Cons:
Battery life - mine's normally about 1.5 days, but has dropped to under 1 day for some as yet unknown reason
QWERTY - I still make typos, fewer than I first did but still some
Non-USB socket - silly Samsung prop socket so I can't use all my existing chargers etc
No 2.5mm socket - cant use normal headphones
Dust under the screen - lots of people (but not everyone) have this
Red button too close to DPad - hit it occassionally by mistake

I usually have Brodit holders for my phones - but I bought an i607 (Blackjack) holder and it didn't fit the i600 - it was loose!!!

Does anywhere (yet) do an i600 car cradle? Passive is fine...

It's slow only immediately after a reboot (like most of the OS) and there really is no need to customize it.
And i beg to differ, it's very useful - after switching to a firmware w/carousel i practically never leave the home screen anymore...

It's an altogether different firmware loader and a different boot loader!

Firmware updates meant for i600 with Open 1.1 loader talk to Open 1.1 loader. Firmware updates meant for i607 with Xcingular 1.2 loader talk to Xcingular 1.2 loader. You can't mix and match!

Well, actually you can, but it's a one way trip...

I think there was a standalone flasher utility floating around GSMHosting somewhere (i think) that you could feed a firmware of your choice. Maybe you could try looking that up.

Thats should do, but my service provider use different account for data stream that you have to dial number such as *9*99 and APN name. That method should be no problem with USB Modem Dialer. But got no dialer in CD, Have tried to download HTC Modem Dialer but cannot find any modems connected. So I tought that other version which offer three modes of USB connection should be okay. In some version of I600 (not i607) that I've read, there are three options in USB mode "activesync, modem and Extended media ". So anyone with this three modes, please tell me what version are you currently use? is the problem will be solved by upgrade to higher firmware ?

Hard Reset is a good place to start, but it can be a pain.
If you have any backup software you could run that first so that you can quickly get your phone back to how it was.

Sync your device
Call the contact
Check to see if it's still there

I've never heard of problems like this.

Are you sync'ing via USB or over the air to an Exchange server?
