heya,
I need to urgently buy another Tytn II.. Preferably a HTC naked one, but if it has to be networked unlocked Orange would be good.

Anyone know where to get them from. I dont really wanna spend more than 250 quid.

I have 2x M3100's on Orange that are in very good nick that I'll happily trade in.. Anyone have any thoughts?

I was lookin at CEX.co.uk.. they have them for 250 but are they reliable?
Ebay seem to be reasonable but then shoot up in price about 10 mins before the auction end.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

I cannot believe the only damn charger that works is this one.. not even the price.. just that not any compatible charger works.. i've never experienced this before.. its a righr pain the ass.. everyt time i get a new phone the manu's seems to do something to cripple all the accessories you have... does my head in. Now i've spent 30 quid on getting a charger.. one that didn't work, and now the HTC one.

same thing happens with me.. when i have wifi, gps, and BT on for the handsfree the current can't seem to keep up with the amount of draw.. i've tried setting the screen brightness low.. but doesn't help... i think it slows the discharge, but eventually the battery dies...

I bought an O2 XDA charger.. and i've tried it with a usb cable into lighter plug modular thing..

Any ideas anyone?

I've tried loads of cases.. I have the 'Noreve' case for the TyTn II.. but.. but... I have also been send the Seidio shell and holster for the phone.. I have to say.. that I think this is the best yet.

I dont like leather cases.. they flap about.. and add bulk, and these phones aren't exacly 'waffer thin' so I dont want something that's going to get in the way.. nor do I want a case with an odd plastic cover over the keyboard to hold it in place.. then I came across this little beauty..it has a lovely rubberised coating on.. and seems to clip on well..

Here's some pics.. i'm not a sales rep for Seidio..I stumbled upon their site.. but it seems that this case is quite good..some photos attached for you people!

What do you do when the missus is out and the lad's in bed?

Take some screwdrivers to your Kaiser of course!

and I almost made it, but can't separate the two halves sad.gif something in the area of the space bar is holding the thing together, and for the life of me I can't suss it out, sooooo......has anyone else tried? and had any more sucess than I did?

Reason?

Well I've managed to get hold of some TyTN II buttons and want to see if I can replace my T-Mobile branded ones with 'em smile.gif

So...anyone brave/silly/curious enough to see if we can't figure it out?
..........1 to go...........

here's a question.. I wondered.. with your experience of pulling things apart.. did you see how the joystick assembly sits in the unit.. I have an Orange TyTN II and the whole silver bit thing seems to move around quite a lot.. I posted to another topic but I got a mixed bag of answers... do you find that there's a bit of movement especially left and right to the whole joystick assembly?

be good to know what you think

I wouldnt use those skins.. according to the site...

Saturday November 17 2007 update:
Note: Newer HTC models (HTC Tytn II / Kaiser and HTC Touch) have their own custom dialpads, these skins aren't suitable for them. Do not install! You might have to hard reset if you cannot remove these skins via remove in settings

My HTC branded Tytn II has about 1mm of play in the silver surround of the hardware keys on the front. They slide up and down but not left and right.

Dude, just wanted to say you are an absolute legend for posting this - many thanks indeed. When I run the CAB on my WM6/HTC Kaiser device, I get an 'installation was unsuccessful' message - any idea why this could be?

Cheers again!

I cant get the cab to work on the Orange TyTN II..anyone else have any luck?

Hi.

I decided to use FlexMail on my shiny new Kaiser and I am also using Spb GPRS Monitor that came in the box.
Is there a way to set GPRS Monitor so that the little envelope icon on the today screen switches to FlexMail?

I took a look at the registry and didn't see anywhere that it calls for Outlook but that's what it seems to want to do.
I know I can just press the envelope button on the outer key pad or press the little icon at the bottom of the screen (tray?)
but it would be nice and consistant if everything worked the same(?).

On the same note. On the Today screen are three icons for unread mail, new messages and missed calls. Is there a way to
set the envelope icon to respond and direct to FlexMail? Again, consistancy. Hmmm.. perhaps I have too much time on my hands?
dry.gif

Cheers.
karlo

did you get MMS working with Flexmail installed? just wondering.. i've not had much luck with it in the past

Hi Aero,

I got mine off Orange a couple of weeks ago. The first one that got sent out had a faulty back panel that kept falling off. Orange sent me a new one the next morning.

Am *very* happy with it. True, it doesn't come with Tom Tom and Orange Home is yucky but I installed TT myself and SPB Mobile etc. I've installed all manner of other crap on it - and it's working great!

I also find the aesthetics to be a bit more pleasing. The case is black/hard fabric, not metal. I bought a Crumpler though which is a brilliant fit.

Tariff: Racoon 35, 800 mins anytime, xnet, 100 txts, unlimited land line, free phone @ £30 per month. I added the £8 data bundle on it. 30mb is not ideal but I just need it for email. Total = £38.

Try to get through retentions and have a deal in mind. If they don't give u what you want, call back and speak to someone else. Good luck! tongue.gif

What Crumpler case did you get for it.. I love Crumpler.. they're really good!

I agree. I've had mine since Tuesday, and I love it. I'm 14, and I love showing off with it. It needs more memory, storage and CPU, but it's great. I'm never going back to normal phones.

ok ok, without wishing to be patronising.. let me rephrase the question..

whats so special about the 'Touch' that the other smartphones cant do better, faster and with more useability..
I'm not interested in 'the cube' interface.. why the heck are people so into this.. for price? or is it so the market opens up to a younger crowd.. but then you gotta be a geek (like us) to get into the interface.. once you click past the cube screen.. you're backin WM6 land..

The 'Touch' is pointless.

I have been playing with a touch the last couple of days. Have to say.. i think it's a piece of crap. I dont see what all the fuss is about. The touchflo is useless for anything other than showing your friends, then as soon as you need to do something other than check the weather, you have tiny WM6 nonsense to deal with.. so someone tell me what all the fuss is about?

So tell me.. whats teh big deal.. i've been using different keyboards to get text in and they're all slower than my I600 thumbpad.. I have no idea why anyone would even buy this phone. It's pants!

well.. i know it normally makes a soft 'pip' noise. but it got VERY annoying. I gave into my fustrations and hard-reset. All back to normal now.

not sounding dumb here.. and if you dont have a spare battery.. you still have to locate it onto the USB plug in the cradle, so you may as well use the power cord or sync cable as usual?

This is ALMOST what I need.. I need something like this.. that I can lock the PPC with a password when I press a hardware button and then unlock it with a password.. when i press the buton again.
Surely there must be SOMETHING out there that does this??

Sure the inbuilt thing has that.. but i dont want to always have to enter a password when it comes out of standby..

There is a device lock on the today screen, but that is not password protected.. its just to stop keypresses.

Anyone else?

Hi folks,
I could do with getting hold of an app that is like the device lock, that can be activated from the device screen but has a password too?

I want to be able to activate the password lock from the today screen, so when i leave my phone on my desk for 2 mins.. just so it stops prying eyes..I dont't want the hassle of switching it on and off all the time, and it's buried away in the settings menu..

any advice?
