All I can say is I'm glad I moved to 3!

I get all my MSN, Ebay, Facebook, Yahoo, Google usage thrown in for free... not to mention Skype usage.

I then just pay £5/mth for any additional internet usage on the Internet Max Add-on and I'm laughing....

T-Mo isn't the only provider out there with great deals. Plus I got a USB modem at half price.

So all in I'm on the 1100 xmins/mth, 300 3 mins, all the internet access (£25) plus a USB modem (giving me 7GB/mth for £12.5).

Can't complain... OCS retentions had nothing to offer me...

hi chaps

I've moved over to a pay monthly on 3 and hope to use my 3100 which is now unlocked.

Can anyone please tell me exactly which settings I need to change/create please?

I'm guessing I need to just put in a new network for three.co.uk and leave it at that?

any help greatly appreciated.

Saif.

\well...

apparently my contract ended last month and I had no idea....

so what happened... they barred my phone yesterday much to my annoyance... turns out that there had been over £1300 worth of usage on my phone!!!

they phoned me back today to tell me it was because they had lifted the data bundle off my contract and that the charges were data related ohmy.gif

its left me with a very bad taste in my mouth... they are going to call me back tomorrow once they have issued a bill to discuss this...

if you scroll back a good few pages you'll note that I was told that they would write/call me at the end of the period to get a new bundle but they didn't. I don't know how they can charge this much!!

I'll report back later with regards to what the outcome is...

either way... what are the rest of you lot doing now that we've come to the end of this deal? are you staying with O or moving away?

the 1100 deal on 3 is looking very tempting to me at the moment especially as with the N95 8gb model it only comes out to £35 a month and will give me gmail and mobilemail along with browsing etc... I could then afford to get the 7gb usb modem for half price at £12.50. a far better option possibly....

I need to think about my needs etc I'm thinking that I just want to go back to a traditional phone that 'works' all the time with no nonsense!

let me know what you all think....

QUOTE(encece @ Oct 25 2007, 16:45) *
QUESTION:
Why does it sync a Gmail (or whatever you named it) sub-folder with gmails own seperate duplicated sync'd folders?

Gmail
>>[Gmail]
>>>Drafts
>>>Trash
>>>etc
Inbox
Sent Mail
Outbox
etc

Why doesn't it just sync with the integrated folders on WM? Why arent all of the folders under the Phone's account folder GMAIL?

Gmail
>>Inbox
>>Outbox
>>Drafts
>>Trash
>>Spam
etc

I dont want 2 drafts folders, nor two trash folders, etc. Wish it would work exactly like the integrated mail folders on my phone, syncing the extra folders and mails under the appropriate folders.

can someone explain to my addled mind what the gmail folders correspond to please?

I'm guessing that the 'All mail' folder corresponds to the standard view when logged into Gmail whereby you can see the threads of email and the 'sent' & 'inbox' folders are the same things seperated??

Though I'm not so sure as when I've checked the number of emails in both the All mail folder seems to have loads more emails than the inbox folder....

which is worth synching for a better view... by the way I'm asking regards my PC and moby.

many thanks

Hi

Can anyone help me? I have so far been unsuccessful at linking my M3100 via bluetooth and using it as a modem for my XP laptop. Does anyone know if this is possible, and where I should be looking for a relatively simple tutorial?

I "upgraded" from a Nokia 6233 that had a pretty Nifty "One touch" 3G Bluetooth Internet Connection. It's inconceivable to me that something similar isn't possible for this much more flexible, more expensive device. I can't believe that HTC/Orange/Somebody hasn't issued a fix or patch for this. I am not interested in using USB, as the whole idea is to minimise the cables I have to bring on the road. Besides, I've heard it's unreliable as well.

I'm on the road a lot, and I now find myself getting excel spreadsheets on my M3100 email, zapping them via Infrared over to my laptop where I can work on them, then zapping them back to email them back using the M3100! LOL! Talk about 1 step forward, 3 steps back!

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also - are there any firmware updates for the Tytn that I should be looking out for?

Thanks

Stoatie

Well I guess I should add my tuppence worth.

I just got my bill the other day and it showed data usage of 390MB. I called them up (and as I'm on Panther I got through to their premier line as you should do in a couple of minutes)and they confirmed that as I have OWU they should not be charging me at all.

the OCS chap assured me that I will get a call some time early this week after billing have rectified the situation.

If you're on Panther you should get put through to the dedicated line and not have to wait an age... I was only on hold for about 2 mins.

I'll keep you all posted.

Theres no way my phone would last the whole weekend... you either don't use the phone much or I've got a really dodgy battery.

A full charge in the morning should get me through to late afternoon... but I usually top up via USB during the day...

Having said that I'm on 3G all the time and checking email every 10 mins. Also, make a lot of calls and play about on wireless a little too...

so... I guess I'm using a lot of power hungry elements of the chip as well as applications

BRING ON THE HIGH CAPACITY BATTERY!!!

just to let you all know I've just received my first bill after my upgrade.

OWU appears as a 1GB/mth allowance not the 2GB/mth I had originally thought. To be honest I doubt I will get anywhere near this... at best a couple of 100 a month....

have fun... and by the way... the premier support line really is quite good...

I'm desperate for a higher rated baattery. Currently my battery doesn't last the whole day and I have to top it up throughout the day on USB. Having said that I use the phone a hell of a lot. Always on 3G and pulling email and browsing. And I use it as a phone a lot too!

can't wait for a double capacity battery...

or alternatively... a spare battery with an external charging docking station... like the pdas of old...

However the connection won't go back to wifi! how can I stop the 3G connection from kicking in apart from deleting the 3G orange internet settings? i'm not currently on OWU so don't want to use 3g at all. any help much appreciated.

after a couple of tries to get a decent person in the OCS team who actually knew what they were talking about I put up with a chap called steve... not the most helpful but nevertheless he at least knew about the 2k extra mins thing.

so I paid my £49.99 and now have P45 with 2.9k xnet mins and 200txts & the OWU = total of 53/mth.

actually I didn't confirm if it was for the duration of the 18month contract or not... need to get that confirmed.... damn it - I hate having to do this on O.

will check and report back... if its on there for 18 months I'm going to stop coming back to this and similar threads as they ruin your life!

I phoned OCS back and got told by a decent chap that if I paid £49.99 instead of nothing for the upgrade he could do the 2k extra mins for free...

he said that there are some strange rules on their systems and when I walked through some of the offers mentionned here he said they simply shouldn't have been offered...

Anyways... I'm thinking that a one off payment for an extra 2k mins/month isn't bad at all... and might have to call them back to go over it....

how much to extra sims cost these days - anyone know?

To be fair it's 1 post from 1 person. I haven't had any problems thus far, specifically I can take photos onto the card unlike the other thread.

It is a very good price - and it's about 5 miles from me so I save on postage biggrin.gif But even with postage it's still cheaper than mobymemory etc

fair point.

I hope you post in the other thread to clear things up

Well, you could try that. The best thing to do when you're after a super-new handset is sit tight for a bit and watch what happens. I've been climbing the walls for about three weeks trying not to buy one but it's paid off, eventually.

hindsight being a wonderful thing etc....

can't help the position I'm in now...i'm stuck...

if it hadn't been for this forum i'd not be any the wiser ! mad.gif wink.gif

but hey... i'll give them a ring and see what they can do for me if anything... otherwise I'm inclined to send this back and sit tight for a few days and then try again just before the 31st...

I think I was lucky when I upgraded. I upgraded to the M3100 on the day of release and asked OCS what they would do for me. The guy put me through to retentions straight away and they offered me the extra 2000 minutes - I didn't have to ask them. The only thing I did have to haggle over were the extra texts and the price of the handset.

When I did the upgrade, the retentions guy said that the 2000 extra minutes were available until the end of August so get them while they're hot!!

Just waiting for September 1st to roll round so I can start taking advantage of my new tariff (that's when my contract date is)

Fox

Hey fox,

what deal did you get in the end and what was your monthly spend like...

cheers

Am I the only one who is quite annoyed at not getting these UBER deals being offered to other people now???

I think it is a symptom of having upgraded as soon as the m3100 was made available...

I'm seriously thinking of sending mine back now and then trying to renegotiate a better deal...

any advice/thoughts?

surely I'm not the only one who thinks they can get a better deal?????
