You can use SKTools to do this, or the free application 'SIPchange'. P I bought SKTools on the strength of your repeated recommendations of it and to be honest, haven't used it much really but I've had a good look round it now but can't find this - I want to set xt9 as default but can't find where to do it...any ideas? Cheers, Smiffy. |

Well, first off, I would be tackling the midnight reboots - not healthy and not supposed to happen. What WM6 ROM is on it? is it a proper operator one or a "cooked" one? Smiffy. |

It might well be too late for replying to this thread as the phone might well be pushing up daisies but I saw a mod you could do to the USB cradle that would make the phone charge while cradled without the power supply - it just involved one wire and looked easy but I never got round to trying it. If anyone knows where it is now, let me know :-) |

Oh yes - been into PDAs and smartphones for longer than I can remember - I was always an early adopter I've had this E100 since they came out - it was a replacement for my original canary SPV that got nicked. The problem isn't knowing all about this stuff - it's finding it so lnog after it went out of production :-) I changed the ROM on it the first time around within 3 days :-D The problem is, I-only recently too!! - got rid of all my old CDRs including the ones that had all my old SPV stuff on it. I've got a vario 2 at the moment with whatever ROM I feel like having on it this week but I'm just bored of it and fancy a change so I'm going to flog it and get in iPAQ 514 Voice Messenger - just messing with this for the time being Anyway, got it all unlocked now and just need to find myself a homescreen I like again. I went for all the industrial stuff the first time round - brushed and all that stuff. Now I just want functionality, well, with maybe some style ;-) Definitely no pipes though :-D |

OK, so there's video guides and all that stuff telling you about how to do it and pressing a button within 2/10 of a second and it's all a load of waffle. It took me ages to work it out but once sorted, I can do it every time... With a card in: Press the voice record button while powering it on and wait until the card found message disappears. It will now say press any key to enter bootloader. Just press and hold the centre action button. That's it. Works every time Ta. Smiffy. |

OK, I've managed to app unlock the phone using something called unlock-all (just for the benefit of people coming to this phone late in the day who can't be bothered searching, oh, and me for the next time I forget and try to unlock it again I'm going to add it to my digital time capsule for the next time i need it (and for me reading this in 18 months time, that means it's on the old blue ipod mini PM if anyone needs this but be warned now - I take no responsibility for helping you use it beyond the instructions i put with it. Bricking is at your own risk (though it appears to be very minimal with this method Cheers, Smiffy. PS - I still want the imate ROM though |

Hello I don't want anyone to post it here as it's against forum rules but if anyone at all knows where I can download this ROM and the MSN fix (if it still even works!), I would be forever in their debt. I have searched for hours and tried the decert apps and websites several times with no luck and I know this ROM is app unlocked out of the box. Please, if anyone has it, PM me and save my phone Cheers, Smiffy. |

Oh....yes....baby.... I love my Hermes, Windows Mobile Pro is the best as far as I'm concerned but unfortunately, HTC can't design for s*** and they wouldn't know a decent CCD if it came and bit them on their collective asses! I'm thinking it'll be just about the right time for me to upgrade too :-D |

This sounds like a really interesting project Count me in! I'm up near Glossop - all the way oop North so that would be a nice long trip Is there anything you could do to the box to make the GPS reception better? I thought that maybe some kind of copper wire antenna could be stuck in the lid....but then I realised that might make it look more like a bomb than before, so maybe not ;-) Smiffy. |

Having just read through 17 pages of posts (with the maximum number of posts per page as well!!) it would appear that the problem has not been solved, unless you disable the profile tab (instructions are near the end of the whole thread as to how to do this) Smiffy. |

There's a newer version available here that has 6 tabs on it now and fixes the virbration issue (something to do with using the calendar makes it put auto vibrate on) I've just put it on mine and it looks good but I have to confess that I don't use the automatic profile thingy. Cheers, Smiffy. |

It was released a couple of days ago but several people were experiencing problems with it so JJ pulled the link - he'sa said he'll have a fixed vresion back up this weekend. Smiffy. |

I second that! It goes without saying that you should read up what you are doing before taking the plunge. Mr Vanx has done some excellent guides here - start with HardSPL 2.10 olipro as a bare minimum as this can save a lot of heartache should the upgrade process fail for some reason (like your neice pulling the cable out when you go to make a coffee for instance ;-) Read them here Anything unofficial you do will invalidate your warranty (if your network can find out about it obviously Enjoy! Smiffy. |

I'm sure a lot of people know this already but for those that don't... Sadly, it's not UK localised and isn't likely to be, but the dopod asia version has just been released (and it is in English Check out the links here Cheers, Smiffy |

I can't say as it bothers me all that much nor can I say I can't understand why they aren't doing it *shrug* I'm already running WM6 on mine anyway (just put on the newly released, official dopod asia ROM after trying black majik for a couple of weeks) and it works fine with mine. I believe there is a new version of black being released today based on the official release...black satin it is to be called which will no doubt be going on mine until I cook that to have all the T-Mobile stuff in it by default It is a little bit disappointing that we won't be getting an official, localised version from T-Mo but there's plenty of other choices to go with that will work just fine Cheers, Smiffy. |

hey that sounds cool! you can actually re map hardware keys on ppcs? or do u need to do registry edits or change file names in the windows folder? Yep - easy peasy It will only let you map certain ones but, it works Smiffy. |

Hi All, I've just upgraded to a M3100 from a M2000. Apart from the usual stuff I use it mostly for TomTom. The smaller screen means that I prefer to run TomTom in landscape mode but I find it a real pain to need to do the Start > Settings > System > Screen > etc, etc. Is there a utility out there that puts an icon on the Today screen that will toggle the orientation with a single tap? I'm really struggling to find one. Many thanks. JT No need for a seperate app - just map a hardware key to the Cheers, Smiffy. |

thought i'd add the link: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/...-phone-manuals/ then click your phone, then internet settings. only have to specify username/password. browsing seems a lot faster that on the tmobile rom. Nox That's great if you're at a PC when you need them but if you have to hard-reset your phone while you're out and about, then just running a cab is by far the easiest way to put everything back - just keep it on your SD card and it's always there when you need it. And if you have a push mail account that syncs your contacts etc. you can get yourself up and running again in 5 minutes Smiffy. |

Don't know if it will help but for my bluettoth receiver, I awlys pair it up with the bluettoth first and then create a serial port connection to it on COM5 - this has worked every time for mine so fingerds crossed for you Smiffy. |
