Better CPU performance, decent camera and double battery life on the i900 gets my vote.

Seeing how it works and feels in real life will be the challenge.
Is touchflo3D all it is really cracked up to be? Be good to see these two alongside the Samsung interface on the Omnia to give a real feel to the winner.
I wonder how long it will be for the other manufacturers to jump on the "iphone style" interface band wagon?

TomTom 6 was not written for the Windows Smartphone, there was only a Pocket PC and symbian versions made.
You need TomTom5 which is practically impossible to buy now due to its age.

Interesting views on the Diamond, I'm trying not to jump on the "I want one" bandwaggon just because its new, but as you have both now played with the device and given positive feedback its cetainly tempting. I'll have to wait until the highstreet stores stock them before I can have a play with one and make my own mind up but certainly sounds good.

There are adaptors around, here's one to start you off.

Or a UK site with a slightly different design.

The card would have the wifi hardware, the software or drivers would need to be on the device unless but technically there could be a standalone driver/software written for it.

Sounds like the patch is causing the system to continuously talk to the GPS. I do not have the application myself and can only suggest you contact the developer explaining the issue as a bug report.

Do you mean application unlocking, I was not aware that the phone was locked?
What applications will not install?

Have you tried contacting Garmin? sounds strange to have those messages, are you sure your version is an original copy and not from somewhere else?

Welcome to the site smile.gif
and a PLUS member as well, have fun on the site and any questions you may have just post in the relevant areas.
There are some good applications available on PLUS so you should hopefully get the most out of your device.

It's not always best to flash a device just because you can.
The ROM that is supposed to be available is not authorized in any way so as with all ROMs like this you take your chance in bricking the device or not.

Take a look in the downloads sections for landscape themes.
Also check out the Customization section of the site, this is a dedicated area for tutorials to create homescreens.
All the information you need can be found there.

The problem I have at teh moment is spare time to test anything my end.
I've not had a day off since the beginning of April and so I have a lot of catching up to do when I finally get some time off.

Is the phone definately syncing ok with Vista and shows it's connected when you try to transfer files etc?

Edit to title header; Please note some sections are device specific and originally written based on the HTC Hermes PocketPC but the terminology will apply to all devices, eg bootloader and hard reset but not the actual process. Please look at the device specific section of the site for more details for more information.

Edit Application Unlock; WM5/6 changed to Windows Mobile devices. (Application unlocking has been required from 2002 OS on certain devices).

Edit OS; added WM2002, and WM2003SE

Edit Smartphone; Pre WM6 class, Smartphone is defined as a mobile phone which offers advanced capabilities like that of a PC. It will not have a touchscreen as compared to a Pocket PC.
With the introduction of WM6 all mobile phone devices running Windows Mobile are now classed as Windows Mobile powered Smartphones

Edit Activesync; MSDC changed to Windows Mobile Device Center

Nice list we have had similar in the past (but not as extensive) with areas on the site like the Information section which unfortunately was demolished when the wiki started out.
Would have been nice for all the information to be added to the wiki fisrt but unfortunately this was not the case.

I will make a few alterations above and if anyone else would like to add further information you would like to see or add please post below so PPCInformer or myself can edit the main post.

Keep up the good work PPCInformer smile.gif post made into a pinned topic.

QUOTE(shootydogthing @ Jun 19 2008, 17:04) *
It beats the i900 in a few specs... plus TouchFLO 3D

Apart from more RAM what is actually better?

Also HTC TouchFLO3D and the Samsung equivilent Touchwiz UI does not make a device.
Key things the Samsung beat the Diamond hands down is,

1, Internal storage plus MicroSD support
2, 5MP camera
3, 1440mAh battery

You can extract the cab from the exe but it's something I have never done myself and so would not know where to start, as for installing applications with Vista it's been a long time since I installed anything on my C550 with my vista pc, I normally only sync contacts etc nowadays.

The MPX220 never made it off the starting blocks here in Europe as such. Because the device came out in the early days it missed key areas so never had the following the MPX200 had.

Also don't forget the MPx220 is very old now in the Smartphone world that fewer people will now look in on this section.
The MPX200 on comparison was a cracking device despite it's keyboard issue and lack of reception in weak areas.
