OK, I finally got .Net 2003 and got the SDK installed and away we go!
I started by doing a simple program which switched between 2 animated GIFS using the softkeys. Scaled them down so they fit the screen nicely but when I run the EXE they are stationary. The file runs on my computer with animation OK, just not when I run it on my C500. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

I think its the version thats the problem. Is VS.net 2003 the version after just VS.net? And have they skipped straight on to VS.net 2005 and can I upgrade to 2005 or do I have to get the full version?
Yes....I ask a lot of questions dont I? |

I have installed Studio.net, I have the .net framework, the latest ActiveSync, tried to install the Smartphone SDK for 2003 and when I go to Open, New, there is no Smartphone template showing anywhere.
I've read a couple of other posts on here from people who had the same thing, but the suggestions given do not apply to me. I went on Microsoft's website to double check the installation requirements and have followed them. Please help....although I'm just a newbie on .net (have basic knowledge of VB6), I just wanna create some nice simple apps for my phone and move on from there. Thanks. |

Is it possible to make smartphone apps using VB6 and the Smartphones SDK or must it be VB.net? |

Thanks for pointing me here Will. Gonna have a go at this when I get some spare time. Once you get the technique, you're only limited by your imagination! |

Of course, animated GIFS!! I wondered how it worked. Great stuff...only problem for me is, although I have Photoshop, I'm poo at it and could do with a real 'for divvies' guide!
Anybody know of a place where you can get more of these photo themes? |

I was after this info also. I downloaded a mobile poker game which has the call/raise/fold buttons at the bottom, behind the softkey options. If there was a way to remove the status bar at the top (battery level/signal strength etc.), then it would be perfect.
Please help...I've searched the rest of the forum without luck. (This might be due to me not knowing what the 'status bar' is actually called!! |

Hmmmmm.....so does the C500 need to be unlocked or not? I believe not, as I have managed to install several apps which said unlocking was a pre-requisite.
However, I have also had a permissions issue with 2 different homescreen themes? Are these related? Noob after advice... |
