does simunlock mean to unlock your phone so any carriers sim card will work in the phone? I used it thinking it was for the sim card errors people get when rebooting the phone but I realized thats not it. sorry if this question seems obvious. I already have an unlocked phone so maybe thats why i dont know what you mean by sim unlock

Hi everyone,
Been a while since I posted on here, been busy with school and work and trying to start up a business so you know how it is. I got a problem with one of my MPX200's lately. My voicemail icon on the external screen will not show up. I have another MPX200 and it always worked fine on there with windows mobile 2002, this phone has 2003 and for some reason the vm icon just doesnt show up on the external screen. inside it shows up fine. Sorry if this issue has been tackled but I tried to search for an answer and couldn't find anything on it. maybe a registry fix? All other icons work fine missed call icon shows up fine battery icon is fine just not the dang voicemail icon.
anyone got a solution?
-wasyed

p.s. if theres a solution already posted on the forums please redirect me :-)

HI I have a shiny new C600 and I am well impressed (you can even use it as a phone!!!) I installed Theme Changer and did not like it, it changed things round and messed up the apperance. I then removed the program and there seems to have been something left behind, I get this message when I turn on the phone

notification error

cannot execute\storage card\program files\themechanger\themechanger.exe

How do I get rid!

many thanks to all you brain boxes out there

I'm having the same exact problem... very very annoying. I'm having the issue on my windows mobile 2003 on my MPX200. anyone found a solution yet? there's nothing in the startup folder in the storage either so I'm guessing maybe its a registry setting that needs to be cleaned out? Anyone have a solution?

Hey people... I have had this Motorola Mpx200 for quite some time now and the volume has always been a problem, sometimes it's loud and I can turn it down and sometimes it's the other way around (during calls)

I never used the headset because... I just didn't need it I guess... well now I do and I can't use it.... here's the problem...

I can hear music just fine with the headset, hads-free whatever you call it (the one that came with my phone) all system sounds work properly, but when I make a call people can hear me, but I don't hear anything at all, I can't turn the volume neither up nor down, I just don't hear anything...

Does anyone know what's going on or how I might fix the problem??
Please

I had heard of some people getting a faulty headset with the mpx200, sounds weird and unprofessional on motorolas part but eh i guess. I had a problem with my headset too when i bought my mpx and ended up ordering another on ebay, turned out to be perfect and even got rid of the famous "dropped calls" issue that some people are experiences with the headset. So most likely its the headset piece thats faulty but then again it can be the O.S., might wanna try a reset first (both soft and hard reset) i mean hey you never know right? afterall it is Microsoft on our little buddy...

I bought a new headphone yesterday. But it is working only incoming calls.During the outgoing calls I couldnt hear the voice. On the other hand I can listen mp3 and other media files. Is that hardware or software problem ? Please help me !

I noticed that sometimes when you make an outgoing call and then plug in the headset you cant hear anything and when this happens basically I just press the back button and then voila! it works... and then all you do is press call progress to go back to the call screen... I think this is a 2002 specific issue but its worth a try :?:

well i dont know if they made their own, because the file says jmms but I put a new post for this since this particular post can be left alone for the original question, it contains the italian motorola site link where I have downloaded it from. hopefully im not doing anything illegal and I havent linked the file directly to be on modaco's good side smile.gif

hi dont know if i can do this on here.. but its not a direct download link but here:
http://www.motorola.it/download/programmi.asp

right there they have right off of the motorola italian site the download for an mms software. in my remove programs list it comes up as motorola mms software or something like that but the file says jmms. so for those of you, as myself who had originally purchased the phone with the software and have lost it after a hard reboot.. I guess this is perfectly legal to post the site that contains the download. forgive me if I'm doing something illegal on this forum.. But im only redirecting you to the link on motorola that contains the link to the software...
again sorry if i have violated anything

didn't find a solution to this but when i tried to send a mms to myself, I got a text back from T-mobile saying "your friend... can only receive text messages. your picture message was delivered as.." so does that mean t-mobile users can't recieve mms? is there any way to fix this?

yeah I would consider that a backup battery too. I mean thats what it does, backs up the time and simple info like that. Same as with many other products like my calculator, the backup batter is there to help retain info int he calc. Once i let my calculator sit for a few years without giving it a new battery and sure enough the memory that i put into the calculator was erased. I'm pretty sure the same goes for these phones, and as far as the 90% indicator, could be possible that the battery doesnt drain too quickly as with all those "watch type" batteries, and the backup battery is only going ot take action once the main battery is completely drained and even if your phone doesnt turn on because the battery is drained doesnt mean every bit of the battery is drained theres always some juice left in there. it just doesnt have enough power to turn on but it will have enough power to keep everything "alive". because when i mean completely drained i mean COMPLETELY drained which is very very very rare.
another possibility could be that the backup recovers once the main battery is back in or once you charge your phone. and maybe thats why it shows 90% because i have read somewhere that when you recharge a battery thats not a rechargeable, you cannot recharge it 100% or else itll start to leak if it goes anymore, you can however charge it less then 100%. once your phone is drained your not able to see if your phone is using the backup so we actually never know if that 90% drops

oh boy... another long post by me... sorry... lol, guess I wrote another book, I'll publish this one in paperback.

actually yeah.. and actually its more then the 220 could handle. I was surprised at how the 220 doesn't handle as much as the 200. the 200 is reviewed by various sites and said by motorola to handle sd cards up to 1 gig! MAN THATS A LOT! yeah it defiinately can do 1 gig and theres tons of great deals on 1 gig cards lately so hey you might as well go for it... unless your a broke college boy like me  ... however performance wise, i would assume smaller cards will have quicker access, I can be wrong though.

hey not sure if this issue has been addressed but i read a couple of your topics and didn't notice anyone who fixed the headset problem.. but this is what happened to me. when i first recieved my phone with the stereo headset it often dropped calls as many of you have been experiencing. so then i found out that whenever i jiggle the headset is when it actually loses connection and drops the call. some people thought it was just when the phone is closed some people thought it was just when it was open. but i noticed that once in a while when i hit a bump in the car it loses the connection. thats when i figured HEY jiggle the headset while its in the socket and see what happens... and sure enough it lost the connection with who i was talking to.
then I thought to myself hmmm what if i try another headset that did not come with the phone. so i tried my old mono motorola v66 headset... again same problem  . and then I found my mono jabra headset I purchased seperately a while ago (not the same supplied to some of you from at&t who are still having the problem) and with the jabra... WOW it works! i jiggled, hung the phone from the headset, wiggled some more, and still never lost a connection. it works perfectly.. and has been for the past week. and then today i recieved in the mail another stereo headset that I accidently ordered on ebay (thinking my phone wasnt going to come with one). the same exact oem version that comes with the phone (model SYN9870A) but what the heck?? biggrin.gif it works... i jiggled and wiggled and danced around and tried shaking the socket a little bit... and still the phone didnt drop the call. and then I put back the old one that came with the phone and as I thought it lost the call when i moved the headset around.. but the exact same one i got off ebay works fine?
So, sorry to make this story long but it apears that the original headset supplied with some mpx200's just dont fit in the socket as well as its supposed to. So anyone still having a problem i recommend you get another headset or take your chances with one of the OEM ones available on ebay. but please dont blame me if it doesnt work. and again sorry if this issue was already solved smile.gif
Did this help anyone else?? or has this issue already been solved and im just a little lost? :?
