I've dropped mine a few times onto a hard floor with no harm yet. Not even any scratches to the paint. smile.gif

to fix the Start menu background either go to Settings > TouchFLO and untick 'enable large Start menu'
or try this to replace the image with your own

I'm really happy with mine. Upgraded with O from a Vox so as my first ppc I'm really impressed.

Really nice and small, easily tweaked, excellent gps, good contract, superb VGA screen, bonus FM radio.
No complaints, only suggestions to make it even better - as with every WinMo device I've had, I don't expect it to work best for me straight out of the box but this was the closest yet !

You can change the keyboard through settings>input or clicking the arrow next to the keypad icon when it appears at the bottom of the screen.
I'm using the full qwerty on mine.

QUOTE(del4 @ Jul 17 2008, 00:47) *
I was surprised to find that the apptodate.ico file was a whopping 133K!? Other icon files, like netcfg.ico, setvolume.ico and googlemaps.ico are between 17-33K, so I'm curious why the big difference, especially since these files are installed in main storage and not on a storage card?

The .ico contains 128x128 and 256x256 image formats - uneccessary for pda. You can remove those image formats with a tool like IcoFX. The one I made up is only 14.5k. link 64x64 is used for VGA devices

I've sent you a couple of pm's. Here are my ideas. Download icon, Modaco colours, mimic Windows Update.

Any thoughts ?

Here you go - my blank base - the original may have a grey bar behind the icons iirc
also added some contact pic tests, deliberately skewed smile.gif look best when assigned from manila not the windows contacts

For the first image shown (circuit one) I took a screenshot (with small clock) to get an original backdrop then edit away.
If I remember later I'll post a blank version. If I've more time tonight I'll make some more backdrops.
I like to keep the squares layout though and mainly change the top portion. That will change if/when we can skin the other home pages.

For no.1 just go to settings > today and uncheck TouchFLO3D on the items tab, then add what you want.

Out of the box I found it a bit awkward but after the tweaks I`m very happy with the speed so just need to find the sensitivity setting that suits me best.
I`ve dropped internet, photo, sms and mail tabs using the app neil5459 linked to.

I've been out of contract for a month or so and usually only spend about £40 each month.
Spoke to a very helpful girl on the Loyalty team and after an initial quote of £119 for the handset, I mumbled about maybe trying T-Mob or Voda, so she was able to offer the handset for free if I switched to an 18 month contract.
Phone arrives tomorrow - 600 free mins, unlimited texts and unlimited anytime data for £25pm.

Nice one - I look forward to trying it out
If you have trouble with the smartmonitor stuff then post your xml and I can take a look tonight
Dr Fonz made it extremely customisable so I'm sure you'll find one of several ways to fix it smile.gif

This is the one I'm experimenting with, using the slide plugin. Will rebuild and post soon.

I think your best solution would be to edit the 'mpt_skin_l.xml' file (landscape xml for the media plugin) in /windows
I've not edited mine yet but it looks pretty straightforward. Will be having a play with it tonight.

I would expect a reduction of the x value in to fix it for you

Many thanks for this biggrin.gif
an excellent addition to my E650

Worked as per instructions - one note though is that you must uncheck the 'Pause playback while using another program' option in Windows Media Player (else it will only play for 1 or 2 seconds)

Many thanks Paul - the extra prep cab has sorted it all out for me (all other unlock methods failed)

Now that we've got rid of the ugly orange branding it's time to design some sweet themes smile.gif
