I had the same (or a similar) problem when I went from a C500 to a C600.

You probably need the most recent version/build. Go to Help -> About Jeyo Mobile Companion and see which version you are using. I think the latest is 1.1 (Build: 838). If that's not what you have try downloading the setup from the Jeyo site and installing it again.

I e-mailed the Orange developers last night and by lunchtime today I had a reply with the unlock program.

It works, too!

This is great, thanks!

Do you think you could add Blue to the schemes? I understand that it's supposed to be the default colour scheme anyway but my Orange C600 doesn't have it.

MidpSSH : http://www.xk72.com/midpssh/index.php

It's Java, so not Smartphone specific, but it does work.

Copied the files from my new C600 to my old C500 and tried to run them but they don't work.

I just get an error message :
QUOTE
Unable to open the file.
The system returned the error 'Access denied"!

Try MobSync from http://www.interq.or.jp/punk/doino/home/software.htm

Don't worry, it is in English, even if the site isn't.

Just add a 'Job' to sync your Favorites folder on your PC with the one on your phone (wherever they are, I don't know off hand).

http://www.jeyo.com/

Jeyo Mobile Companion will, amongst other things, let you export your contacts to either a text file or a proprietary .spd file, which can be imported back.

It isn't free though. There is a 1 month trial if you just want to do a one off backup to a text file.

Or there is Outlook.

I just had a play with it actually (Outlook 2003) and if you select all of your contacts you can go to File -> Import and Export... you can export them to a file like CSV, Access or Excel.

Are there any Telnet applications for the C500?

Could do with one to remotely admin a pix firewall.

You could try MidpSSH. It's a Java program rather than a Smartphone one but it runs fine on my C500. SSH definately works, but I haven't tried it with Telnet. Don't see why it shouldn't though.

You may want to download the latest Beta version (1.3.8 ) 'cause there are a lot of changes since the latest proper release (1.3.2).

I think my brother had the same thing on his laptop on account of him plugging in the dongle in before installing SP2. After SP2 was installed Windows didn't recognise it as new hardware when he plugged it in.

You have to install a piece of Bluetooth hardware before the Bluetooth icon will appear in Control Panel. Then it will stay there forever (probably)

Try plugging in the dongle then going to Control Panel -> Add Hardware and install it the old fashioned way. It should pick it up and install the SP2 Bluetooth stuff.

I've had my C500 for 2 weeks now and have been trying in vain to get it working with ActiveSync over Bluetooth. I had all but given up untill I decided to sack off the SP2 built in stuff and go with the WIDCOMM drivers. Then it worked first time.

If you can't get it to work and don't mind going 'backwards' then I suggest anyone who can't get it to work should give the WIDCOMM stuff a go.

The drivers I used were IBM branded version 1.4.3.4 patched to work with Belkin USB adapter using the stuff that was once to be available from http://www.jonsguides.com/bluetooth/ before they had to take it down.
