I used 3.28 on my Vodafone branded device, and installed TLRs ROM
Nerve-wracking, but worked perfectly first time.

Read the guide a few times, and don't start if there is anything you still don't understand.

I reflashed it with the newer TLR ROM and restored from my Sprite backup and all is well
Sure is nice to have my GPS back again :-)

I have a kaiser tytn II (T-Mobile Vario 3) which I've flashed to the TLR 6.1 ROM
All seems to be working and the monitor.exe program is running but my panel says inactive! :-(

Support are looking into the problem but don't seem to have any joy
I've re-installed a few times, pulled my battery whilst on, etc

Any ideas ??

Loneranger thanks for spending the time and effort to do this rom. I seem to be having issues with HTC weather... there are no cities listed just two blank boxes... any ideas?

Everything else working no probs
Cheers, Wayne

Just taken the plunge and installed the rom on my Tmob Vario3 - all looking good thanks to the developer :-)
Love the option in settings to turn HSDPA on and off - that was the biggest battery zapper with push email!!!

Cheers, Wayne

Sounds to me like you need to reset to factory settings
I'm sure someone here can tell you how to go about this

QUOTE(MI 99XPL @ Mar 13 2008, 16:31) *
I got my Blackjack II a couple of days ago. It's my 1st smartphone, so I'm learning a lot about the Blackjack II and also about WM6.

Reading information on the web, it makes me think my phone is getting data a lot for some of the software to work (Google maps and others). I haven't set up my data plan with AT&T yet, mainly because I didn't think I'd need it when I go the phone. But now that I'm learning about my phone, I'm starting to change my mind.

It there a setting, or a reg edit, or even a program, I can adjust to prevent my phone from sending/receiving data through AT&T? Or something like a pop up message asking me to confirm that I'm going to use data from AT&T?

I'd like to figure out which program I'm using that requires data. That way I can decide if I should use it on my phone, or find an alternative like a GPS only software. And if I decide to use the program, knowing when I’m using data through AT&T will help me purchase the right size data plan. (I'd hate to burn through my discount from work just because of buying the unlimited data plan. I'm trying to save money, not keep adding features I don't know how much I'm using. Although I'd bet AT&T wants me to buy them!!).

Thanks,
Andy

I use something called nodata that I think I got on here
Stops the data connection from even starting up - really useful when roaming!

I have directpush on 24x7
Just turn off 3g - its the hsdpa that zaps the battery!

If only I could turn odd hsdpa and leave 3g on
hsdpa is really useful for downloads but not needed for tiny mails

Why not setup your regular pop3 mail account up on it
you never know when it may come in handy

Im not getting you. How come I can delete emails from my gmail account and keep them on the server(gmail.com) but not do that.

Is my gmail pull email and my exchange server pushmail (like blackberry)?

The whole point of exchange is to keep everything in sync
Can't think of any obvious way to do what you want...

Unless you can set up pop3 with exchange and not to delete
Kind of defeats the whole point of an exchange server though

Do you have a screen shot of the comm manager with this installed? Does it add a 10th button, or does it replace the data connection button with a 3 G button (like the one on xda developers)?
Matthew

I installed this app on my Vario III that gave me the 3G option on my comm manager
Quick and easy way to turn it on and off as and when I need it

Would be nice to have something like this for HSDPA... sure its that that drains the batts syncing with activesync directpush all day, its speedy but isn't really needed for push mail... its fab for downloads though :-)

Whilst cycling I want to have my phone clipped to me therefore having the screen on would be a waste of battery - is there anyway to turn this off whilst on the bike ??

My Vario III battery life has dropped my 10% just by downloading a 1mb file onto it!!
During the day battery dropped to 30% just by having directpush on and 3g enabled

Today I have turned off 3G and battery life has improved massively
Is 3G really that much of a drain ??

Yup, came installed that way (with the MSN stuff, etc.). according to the device info screen, i'm on 2.21.2.6 WWE

Maybe try a hard reset and start from scratch... had a few issues with mine in early days but seems loads better now (been using Imate rom since day 3 and now new t-mobile rom for all of 2 hours)

Just noticed sending outgoing messages is the same... can't see anything obviously wrong. Push mail is on and set to as items arrive

** EDIT - THIS IS NOW RESOLVED, I REMOVED SERVER IN ACTIVESYNC ON PC AND RE-ADDED - ALL WORKING FINE NOW! **

Hello everyone. I just signed up with T-mobile to get their cheap unlimited data service. I had intended to use it with my Treo 650, but when I found how cheaply I could pick up a Vario, I decided to give it a go. I've been messing with it for a few days now, and I like it a lot, but there's a few deal breakers that make me think I should send it back before my 7 day return policy is up.

You using the latest t-mobile rom??
If you click the button above volume control do you have 7 options?
