I'm using an SGH i600 with WM5 and I'm totally unable to find "My Documents" folder (where My Images taken from the camera are) when I sync with Active Sync and browse "my wm5 device".
Where on earth is that directory? I'm feeling really stupid! smile.gif

TIA!

How about via Jeyo Mobile Companion?
http://www.jeyo.com/companion/features.asp

Thanks, I'll have a look right now smile.gif

One more question (wm5 newbie):
I'm having a little problem. When I'm navigating the menus (or entering the long WIFI password for the device), if I do a pause of 10 or 15 seconds, the OS returns back to the home screen. Could anybody point me to the option to increase this time? (I find it quite anoying being a 10 seconds delay only)

TIA!

Hi all,

I just got an SGH i600 coming from an SPV E200... it's just incredible everything I can do now with my phone, wifi is a big improvement for me smile.gif It's a shame it doesn't use the standar USB input for recharging it.

I was wondering, is there any way (other than manual) to transfer the phone list from the E200 to the new phone?

TIA!

Hello all,

I have to buy a new mobile phone, but I'm a bit lost since I've been totally out of the WM scene for some time. Could you please suggest me devices which are in the market? (a link to a list of devices with its capabilities would be nice too)

I don't need any fancy features (touch screen, camera, ...) the only thing I need is:

Clamshell (I'm terrible treating portable devices)
WM6 (I'm a developer after all, and I need some new devices)

Preferrable good battery life and qvga screen (I suppose all new mobiles must use it nowadays)

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

great, I'm glad it worked smile.gif

Is there a lot of slowdown when playing bluetooth? I only have been able to play pocket PC versus bluetooth and I think the pocket PC was "saturating" the smartphone due to its higher framerate...

TIA smile.gif

I see it's a common problem so I've done this little tutorial:

Bluetooth help for multiplayer

the process should help for any multiplayer game, not just TapzMania wink.gif

Hi Martin, thanks for the feedback :)

I've uploaded a new version with some fixes. I temporally removed the music because as the game is very cpu intensive it sounded a bit "choking", it should be fixed in the new version. If it sounds bad just disable it ;)

download new version

The mod files should be added in the same directory where the EXE file is (I fixed that in the description too)

About the multiplayer, yes, it's multiplayer :)
However I haven't been able to iron the final bugs, so the communication often fails so it's better not to announce it yet ;) In fact I've been playing using a pocket pc versus my e200 smartphone with almost no problems, but from time to time the communication is dropped and it's a bit anoying, you know ;)

Also the e200 bluetooth is a bit weird, so I can't fully test it . I've found it works better if you start the serial communication before entering the game (and configuring correctly the bluetooth ports, of course, I hope a day I'll find a way to autodetect them ;) )

Great work Kak  :D

I love the graphics but most of all I'm finding the gameplay very addictive. I keep going back to play it again which is a good sign as I'm not usually very good with games

I don't have any in-game music playing yet. I tried putting a mod file in a music folder as stated in the game options but it still never worked.  Does the smartphone version support music ?

I also noticed the bluetooth settings. Is it a multiplayer game ?

Hi everybody!

I'm glad to announce that TapzMania Smartphone has entered the final public beta version ;) I've got it tested in some devices more than the last walls & balls version, but if anybody could test it in other devices I'd be great :)

The beta version can be downloaded here:

TapzMania SMARTPHONE version

The game objective is simple, just destroying a horde of bugs attacking some growing flowers. some might say it's a clone of the old classic Ultimate PSSST game gone 3D. Well, if you tell that I completely agree ;)
In the smartphone version every bug / item has assigned a number which you must type in your keypad in order to kill the bug. Clear all the bugs until the flower grows and you'll be able to go to the next stage.

Have a nice weekend! ;)

Hi everybody,

as radiator said I just updated the Smartphone version fixing the freeze problems with SP3i devices (and also some problems with Mitac Mio 8390). As usual, the file is located here:

WnB Smartphone

I'd wish to thank both Radiator and Hooperman, as they've provided very valuable feedback to Thierry (pocketHAL author) and me to discover the bug, and also to the imate tech service.

I just tried it out on my mpx200, (with WM2003) and it worked great, no lag!
However, I think you should change the "Exit" key so that it would not have any conflicts (like in the HiScores).  I love the graphics in this game and it reminds me of the Linux Breakout...

mmm... weird, both the sp3i bug and this exit problem should have been fixed by now (in fact I got positive reports about a beta I released some days ago)
I fear I'm having a problem with the web server...

Hi Everybody!

I just updated the files for the new version, it should fix most problems, including anoying long lag in C500 & co, and the SP3i bug.
The only bug fix I haven't been able to find is the one where you can only change 1 letter in the record ( all the testers are gone for xmas ;) ).
If anybody finds it and you have a little spare time to help, please send me a msg.

Zipped executable
CAB file

Happy new year to everybody :)

Could you tell me if the ones who had problems with the game downloaded the CAB version or the installable version?

Kind regards

It runs on my dutch Orange SPV C500, but crappy. My phone is not updated since the dutch orange windows rom update will be released januari or februari 2005

Same problem a xerxes has

The screens stucks frequently.

when stucked I press my camera button so i enter the photo-button. Pressing my 'back' button gets me back in to the WnB game. Now I can get a little furter in the game, for about 5 till 20 seconds, then i get stuck again, do the photo-menu thing again, so i can play another 10 seconds.

The game keeps running when my screen stucks, so i can hardly complete a level.

It's not worth playing on a SPV C500 in this state.

Keep up the good work though.

mmm, I will try to test it with an SPV C500, my e200 also stucks from time to time (but not so often and as long as it seems yours do).
I hope to be back soon with good news about this issue smile.gif

hi there, juz needed an update... has the inability of deleting char when u enter highscore name been solved yet? i understand that though pressing back button to quit the prog is a fast way of exiting the game but it shouldn't be this way rite? :)

the weird thing is it's solved in my mpx200 and my e200 :(
And weirder is that it works on some e200, and isn't working on some other e200. I'm trying to figure it out...

btw, when you downloaded the game, and from which site?

as presumed it was an error of mine, I uploaded an old version to the website. It should be right now.

http://www.ru0-games.com/files/WnB_SP.zip

however I've had quite some problems downloading it, as the browser thought it was the same file I just downloaded, despite the size changed :?

so it might be better to download it from clickgamer, i.e.

http://www.clickgamer.com/moreinfo.htm?pid...5§ion=SMART

I hope it works now :)

p.s. yes, you'll have to enter the code again ;)

ok, lots of thanks to everybody for the testing :)

I think all the bugs/suggestions have been met. I followed the shadows advice, it looks better on smartphone this way.

Also, I haven't limited the balls, instead of that, when I detect a heavy slowdown the particles and fire particles are temporally removed (it doesn't look fine when happens but I think it's more important to keep the framerate high). If you find any huge slowdown despite the fix, please contact me.

Well, nothing more, just to say the game should be on sale tomorrow, and that everybody on this thread will receive a little token of appreciation ;) Just look at the private messages :)

Kind regards,
Kak

Hi everybody!

Finally I've got walls & balls (an arkanoid clone previously available for pocket PC) ready for smartphone, however I'm not able to test in a wide range of phones (right now I've only tested it on my MPX200 and SPV E200)

If anybody could test it in other devices (it should work on all unlocked smartphone devices) I'd be really grateful ;)

The file can be downloaded here:
Walls & Balls SMARTPHONE

or if preferred, the ota cab version:

Walls & Balls SMARTPHONE CAB file

of course comments and problems are welcomed, just write us to support@ru-zero.com

TIA
