That will be mail2web live - which is free, but with the restriction that any outgoing mail from your handset goes from a @mail2web.com email address. I upgraded this by paying $4.95 a month for Personal Exchange which means I can configure outgoing mail from my handset to be from my own email address. It works like a dream. |

QUOTE From Amsterdam to OpenDNS before London goes online: I tried this, and found it slowed my home connection (10MB cable connection with Blueyonder) by about 40ms on a ping to www.yahoo.com.bash$ ping 208.67.222.222 64 bytes from 208.67.222.222: icmp_seq=0 ttl=57 time=145.077 ms 64 bytes from 208.67.222.222: icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=152.962 ms One thing I don't quite understand from the examples in their blog.... surely OpenDNS is all about faster Domain Name lookup. If you ping an IP address, then no Domain Name lookup is required?? Am I being a bit dumb here?? BB |

I've had 2 of these Safecom cards from ebuyer for my M500. Both have been DOA. Has anyone else had this problem. Should I ask ebuyer for a refund, or should I have them send me another card?? My SD slot works fine, as my 1GB card sits quite happily in there. I have installed the drivers, before anyone asks |

ermmmm - I hope I'm not appearing philistine, but can someone explain the benefit of these (apparently fairly expensive) protectors, over the ones available in UK from pdamods.com?? |

QUOTE(spridget @ May 18 2005, 08:13) Hi, i wanted to use the c500 on flightmodus with tomtom but the bluetooth settings switch to off when i switch to this mode. Actually, TomTom overrides the flight mode setting, and fires up bluetooth anyway. I had it on (with the phone in flight mode) once (on a quiet flight) and used TomTom to monitor speed during takeoff. ("V1, rrrrrotate!" is at 160mph on a 737!!!!) It's a bugger to maintain GPS reception on a plane - you need to be sitting at the window, and keep the receiver close to the window. My mate had a PDA with a logging application, so he was able to monitor the speed, direction and altitude of the plane during the flight. Very cool indeed. So this is still a valid question about keeping the bluetooth on during flight mode, as Paul's recently released Cameraware application has a similar logging function for our C500. How do you tweak flight mode to activate bluetooth????? |

QUOTE(tmb5 @ Apr 23 2005, 18:29) Problem is that I leave my phone by my head at night so the alarm can wake me. That little green light becomes very bright and annoying when there's no other light in the room! It's actually the blue LED that's annoying. By default, blue LED is much brighter than green. The blue LED has the intensity to light up the bedroom ceiling at night. So, I had the same issue - but I solved it by leaving the phone keypad down on my bedside cabinet. Worked a treat. R |

OK - I've been avidly watching this, but it seems you guys are even a long way in front of me.
When I pair my C500 with my laptop (Dell D400 with integrated BT from Widcom), I'm ONLY offered the ability to do Bluetooth Dial Up Networking. There's nothing about Serial Ports, File or Object Transfer or anything. - even though in the ActiveSync setup on the phone it says to connect to a device that supports Bluetooth Serial Port. That's the pot calling the kettle black!! I had a T610 before the C500, and although the C500 is great, the Bluetooth implementation is sh*te when compared to the T610. Can anyone spot anything I need to do? |

I bought TTM, which is a simply blinding piece of kit.
I was trying out the GPS with some other apps on it: world-locator, intelligolf, amongst others, but nothing seemed to work correctly with my TomTom GPS. I was wondering if it's just me, or is there something funny about the C500 and TomTom GPS - like.... we know TomTom had to update the Mobile software before it would work on the C500. Could the other software be having the same issues?? Anyone have any experience?? |

Doh.
I've been in there a lot too, to play with home screen layout. Just never noticed the time-out at the bottom. The site really is a fantastic resource - many thanks, R |

If I'm in an app (let's say game, contacts or email), my C500 always jumps to the "home" screen if there are no keypresses over a short period of time (about 10-15secs). Only app not affected is TomTom Mobile.
I guess there's a setting I need to change somewhere, but I can't find it. Thanks in advance for any tips. R |
