Apart from more RAM what is actually better? Also HTC TouchFLO3D and the Samsung equivilent Touchwiz UI does not make a device. Key things the Samsung beat the Diamond hands down is, 1, Internal storage plus MicroSD support 2, 5MP camera 3, 1440mAh battery The i900 screen is WQVGA, 240 x 400 I believe. This Touch Diamond better be one amazing device or I am iPhone 2 bound. |

It's great to see such an old post come back up, especially now you can actually get a WM device with a real fingerprint scanner |

I have far too much time on my hands for at least the next 6 months so more than happy to post news stories. IMHO it doesn't matter that the iPhone is not WM, the fact remains that is huge competition for all the mobile platforms. |

11 days with no news? No reaction from arguably the world's leading WinMobile site on the biggest competition this year in the form of the 3g iPhone? Where are you?! |

For me the Athena is the one device that I really wanted to fit my needs but didn't. The weird thing is, this Athena will make no difference, but I'll buy it anyway - that new keyboard is looking very alluring. |

Any reason why he looks like a cross between Father Christmas, Keith from The Office and a Simpson's character? (shamefully posted from my iPhone, the browser is so good!) |

As someone that has used both the paid IMEI-Check unlocks and then the free XDA Dev's one for various devices over the years, I wasn't aware until last year that pof et al were actually cracking the IMEI-Check software for their own purposes. Accordingly what they are pushing out is nothing more than IP theft and should florin and his team wish to proceed with legal action against them they would appear to have a reasonably strong case. I for one will continue to use IMEI-Check for future unlocks, conscience clear that the guys that did the work are getting the financial rewards due. |

I use my device primarily to reply to emails on the road so for me QWERTY is essential. So near to my perfect device now - just add a sliding QWERTY to this or GPS and WM6 Pro to the Wings and we're there. When this was first rumoured earlier in the summer, Sirf III was touted for the GPS hardware, can you confirm this is the case? |

Great app but I think they've missed a trick with this one. Why not include an image searcher and then push it as the ultimate Windows Mobile information search tool? Text - Wikipedia Images - Google Images or other Video - Youtube / Google, as it is currently The name would need work, vTap? Doesn't really sell the product. |

As a HTC Universal (Orange M5000) user i would be very interested to hear from anyone who's converted from using the Universal to the TyTn II. I am very tempted to go for a TyTn II but am concerned about loosing the VGA display as i use my device a lot for internet browsing (Opera) and remotely connecting to PCs. Let me know your experience. Haven't forked out for my Tytn II yet (I just bought a new Macbook Pro (Paul that's your fault) and my wife WILL kill me if I spend any more on 'gadgets' this month) but I used to use my Ameo for remote desktop purposes and I could never go back to a non VGA screen if I still had a regular need for a remote desktop connection. You might want to wait for the HTC Omni (Google it) which is little more than vapourware at the moment but hopefully should materialise early part of 2008. |

Both I would say. Roll on some radio updates then. My office is borderline 3G. A good phone (M3100) will pick up a 3G signal (albeit weak) all the time. My Ameo doesn't get 3G at all there and I'm guessing neither will this. As for the GPS...I still cant seem to get google maps to connect. It doesnt do anything!! It's almost as if Google Maps times out too quickly while waiting for the GPS to pick up satellites. IS there a way of testing the GPS unit itself and just viewing lat/long data etc? I dont know whats going on...it doesnt seem to work at all for me at the moment. I guess I will have to wait until I can get tomtom or something installed to test it properly.... I've never had Google Maps working properly on a Qualcomm chipped device. My M3100 with a Sirf III BT receiver worked fine but on my Ameo it times out. Tomtom works fine although although TTTF is a little slow. Try some other 3rd party demo software |

I think there are people here who probably don't (and never will) visit xda-devs, yet are still potentially interested in basic legalish ROM tweaking... P I think you should stay well clear. AFAIK any ROM tweaking of any kind invalidates your warranty and for me that just doesn't fit with 'clean living' MoDaCo. Anyone that is remotely interested in ROM tweaking soon learns about XDA - Devs and yes, it's a bit of a hostile forum for a noobie but it's all there if people do actually use the search properly. I'm all for ROM tweaking, including the darker side, but I just don't think it has a place on MoDaCo. On the other hand, if you do go head with it and need a new moderator...;) |

200Mhz processor - no problem, WM6 handles it far better than WM5 ever did 2MP camera - well lets face it, no one ever bought an HTC phone for the camera No inbuilt memory - I prefer storage cards No GPS - with the exception of the Armetis, the TTFF is rubbish on current built in GPS No Multi-Touch - I think this has limited use anyway (zoom on maps / photos / webpages etc) But why for the love of God did they make it 2G? IMHO they have IMMEDIATELY ruled out a large cross section of potential buyers who have been used to 3G. The Universal must be 2 years old by now and I think most data users who have reasonable 3G coverage around home and work and have had a Univeral or Hermes will not want to go back to 2G. |

Works great on my Ameo and is a great alternative to Slingbox for my N95. |
