The SP5 is 802.11b so your access point will drop to that speed when its connected. However B is 11mp/s so there could be something wrong all right. Are you near the AP when your connecting?

Yes. And this also happens to my friend's SPV C600. Now, I suspect all Windows Mobile 5 (Smartphone that is) is having WiFi connection problems (well, in my case). Weird, huh? Any fix?

I have a WiFi connected at 56Mbps and whenever I plugged in my i-mate SP5 via USB cable, the connection drops to 2Mbps or until my connection gets killed. Any ideas?

ActiveSync 4.5 seemed to have some sort of "bug" with multiple user accounts. It keeps on setting itself up after I open other accounts on my computer. This doesn't happen with earlier versions of ActiveSync, though. Any hints?

Yea, I doubt it too. But I haven't heard or seen any device with Windows Mobile 6 yet or have I missed it?

Anyway, any take on WindowsMobile's marketing strategy on this? I mean, like in Smartphones, making a leap like say VGA to QVGA screens and upped the OS is okay, but designing another with a 320 x 240 (landscape) screen means remaking most portrait mode applications/games to landscape (eg. Blackjack, Q, etc.) which makes it tedious for software makers to re/create. Any opinions?

Hi. Is it by any chance that Windows Mobile 6 will be offered as an OS update to our existing Windows Mobile 5 much like a ROM upgrade or something? Or WM6 is a whole different ball game?

240x320 (or 320x240) is the resolution you should set it too. If you're talking about bit rate I'd try keep it around 250kbs

Thanks, but I knew that. Anyway, WMP10 only plays at a certain resolution in 240 x320 (portrait mode), right? Any idea what resolution is that?

Thank you for the bit rate.

I want to encode a video for an i-mate SP5. Any suggestions for an optimal video resolution for WMP10 at 240 x 320 (portrait mode)?

I solved this kind of problem by synching via bluetooth instead of USB cable. This method is also an effective solution for those having trouble using the SPV-Services program.

Oof, that's a bit of overkill... laugh.gif

You're right.

Any idea for the correct aspect ratio in encoding a movie with a 240x320 (portrait) smartphone resolution and not the 320x240 landscape mode?

Gr8 glad it works, how are you finding the range.

Range? No idea. I always work near my laptop. I just wanted to sync and transfer files wirelessly to avoid cluttering my desk with cables. smile.gif

Thanks for the guide.

Hello.

I just application unlocked my Cingular 2125. Now, I want to change the ROM to an Imate SP5. I couldn't use the program SPV-Services because it won't run properly. My question is, is there any other method on how to install a ROM without using SPV-Services?

If you have a bluetooth dongle and configure active sync to connect via bluetooth too your phone then with a pass through connection you can use the internet on your phone!

Just got my spanking new Cingular 2125! Do you have a step-by-step guide on how to do this, please?

Hello. I successfully application unlocked my Cingular 2125. Now I am trying to SIM unlock it and I'm not having any success. The program SPV-Services doesn't go through the website. I noticed that whenever I connect my Cingular 2125 via USB, my wireless internet connection drops so I couldn't SIM unlock it.

My probs:
1. Why is that whenever I connect my Cingular 2125 via USB, my internet connection drops?
2. Is there a work-around to run SPV-Services properly?
3. Is there any other method to SIM unlock my Cingular 2125?

Help, please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. Whenever I connect my Cingular 2125 to my laptop via USB, my wireless internet connection gets disconnected -- I could no longer connect to the internet unless I restart WinXP. Help, please.

Greetings.

I got a bunch of questions, folks:

1. Are applications from Smartphone 2002/2003/SE compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0/QVGA?

2. Since MS made a somewhat unified badge with their portable devices -- calling it Windows Mobile (5.0), are WM5 software compatible for both Smartphone and PPC?

Thanks a lot.

I got a bunch of questions, please:

1. Is there a compatible ROM (HTC, Imate, Qtek) that I could use with the Cingular 2125?

2. If there is, is there a step by step guide on how to install a different ROM for the Cingular 2125?

Thanks in advance.
