strange issues you all have here granted im not using a windows device, but my N95 was originally on t-mob and I have unlocked it and can browse the web using my 3 sim when in a 2G coverage area no problems at all, good job too seeing as my house gets no 3g coverage lol as said, the only things which wont work are downloading of games etc as I dont have the 3 software certificates on the phone as I am using generic nokia firmware, but I can say for certain that 3 do not stop you using data when roaming on orange as it works fine for me |

if camera is important to you as it seems it may be, then forget any of the windows devices, be it smartphone or ppc, none of them have decent cameras |

no, just £110!! the £50 credit is a bonus. £5 initially on sim, plus £10 voucher. The other £35 is paid over 7 months as long as you make a chargeable call each month |

the only issue i have with my phone is you cant (as with nokias/samsungs) receive/send via bluetooth unless u install something like smart explorer! i thought you could now without using smart explorer, just by selecting beam in the menu options, it will then send by bluetooth if you have it turned on or search for infra-red if you dont mind you it is a while since i had the v1240 so i could be wrong |

I would spend a little more and get the C600 on PAYG, currently available from Amazon for 140 quid. when i looked yesterday though its not available yet, amazon are quoting usually dispatched in 1-2 weeks, which means they have no idea as orange havent released it on PAYG yet |

the £130 on orange website is for the C550 with the standard 128MB card. For the 512MB card, plus i think some audio cables, it is £150 on PAYG. I have not found anywhere cheaper. Personally i would go for the C550, had a couple of these, also had a few C500's, and for me, the improved screen, improved camera, music buttons, and a normal joystick make it the winner in my eyes. Although, it may be worth considering, not all apps have been updated to run on the new qvga screen resolution of the C550. and, i think your sister can count herself lucky that she will be getting a lovely new windows mobile phone for xmas, whichever one you choose, wish i had a brother like you |
