QUOTE(Neil F @ Apr 13 2007, 17:15) *
This happened to my phone the other day sad.gif I've had it less than a week. It went from being super tight to just about staying in. It's just a matter of time before I lose it now. Is it a rubber O ring? I was at home when it went loose, so I'll have a root around to see if it's still around.
Do they fix it while u wait in the service centre? Anyone have a link to the locations of service centres?

Many thanks
Neil

My fell out but I have it. It is flat square in size, color is clear transparent, so once you loose it - may be hard to find.
I wasn't able to put it back. I can see there is a space for it inside, but just couldn't make it fit there.

I've used emoze twice, once late last year and again this week while I'm on holiday from work. have to say I continue to be unimpressed, seems to cause Outlook SP2 to crash pretty often, which kind of defeats the purpose...

My Outlook 2003 SP2 never crashed because of any application, never closed by itself.
Emoze works great for me until I keep the number of synced folders low.
My Windows Mobile 6 has "Get HTML" option when viewing emails, but this option is always disabled and when I receive HTML messge in Outlook, Emoze transfers text message only to my device - I have no idea how to enable viewing HTML emails on my device using Emoze.

There still is this audio bug, when you enable "Vibrate" mode, you still hear very short cracking sound when you open Start menu or do other things - so people around still hear you.
Only workaround I found is to disable "Events" in "Sounds & Notification" menu.

A TEST rom tho, not a proper ROM release...

P

Yes, and it's a good one. The only thing missing is WPA2. I haven't noticed any issues. Made 2 phone calls today, spend over an hour watching DivX videoclips in CorePlayer and listening to MP3.

Found info on CoreCodec forum in my CorePlayer Hermes issue topic, ROM is discussed on XDADEVS forum (as usual).
I have upgraded myself, haven't had time to run all tests yet.

My 2GB is formatted FAT32, works in TyTN, in my Canon S3 IS Camera and is readable in my card Reader, so I'm happy smile.gif
Use Pocket Mechanic to see what's the cluster size and how much space is wasted.

Pictures would be nice smile.gif
I'm interested in taking a look at the back of keypad to see if anything can be done to make "T" key work when pressed normally (it works only if I press its upper-right corner, like something was misalligned underneath)

Also, my rubber grommet that holds the stylus fell out, I'd like to see where is it's place.

Strange question this one. With the buttons and scroll wheel on the sides, I presume this is setup with a rght handed person in mind. (i.e. scroll with the left thumb) Are there any left handers out there can comment on what it's like to use?

Actually I as right-handed would prefer the scroll wheel on the right side, so I could hold it in right hand and operate with one hand.
Device has unusual amount of OK buttons laugh.gif I think there are in total 3 of them. And one to open Start Menu. And the left OK also opens Start Menu wneh you are on Today screen - very clever. You can learn to use the buttons to operate it without stylus which is great!

I can confirm that:
- EDGE icon can not be enabled. You get either G or U.
- Battery level does increment in 10% steps.
- Battery lasts pretty long.

Does emoze sync subfolders for you guys? I've selected all subfolders for syncing, but mine doesn't want to. No exchange here, just plain PST and POP3 accounts.

I have just noticed that after I uninstalled emoze (still waiting for that MicroSD card...) and then installed it again, it did sync my subfolders. But then it stopped syncing them. Today I tried syncing over internet: WiFi, GPRS, UMTS and also over ActiveSync (connected via bluetooth) - subfolders didn't sync.
I'm looking at my Outlook right now, there are new unread messages in subfolders. Emoze is set to sync emails from one full week.

None its stalls on 0% upgrade and shows

ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID

which the RUU readme file says:

"One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade"

Can anyone help ?

Maybe use TyphoonNbfTool.exe to open nk.nbf and clear Operator (vendor) field? I did that once to get rid of "Invalid vendor" error message.

0ne Question. One Problem.. OK. Here comes 1 answer. biggrin.gif

What device are you using as there are currently no known issues with subfolders not synching.
Can you tell me specifically what device you have? Concerning a junk folder, As long as this folder is checked, these emails will be pushed to you as well.

My device is HTC TyTN, subfolders are checked but not syncing. Inbox is syncing and works nice.
Regarding Junk - it's not on the list, so I can't even check it.
My Outlook version is 2007 if that matters.

http://www.corecodec.com/index.php?option=...mp;topic=3723.0

HTC TyTN/Hermes users: Here is how to play AVC/x.264 encoded files on Hermes with CorePlayer 1.04 with ATI Imageon 2282 Acceleration Enabled and almost no screen garbage in GUI and NO screen garbage in full screen mode.
When Encoding files, make sure you set output to be exactly 320x240. For audio use MP3 128kbps stereo or less and for video bitrate use ~500kbit, this gives almost perfect picture. You can try 300 or 400kbps to see if you like it, even in case of 300kbps quality is pretty good.
You can use free VirtualDub and free x.264 codec OR "ImTOO MP4 Video Converter".

How to setup CorePlayer: Menu, Options, Orientation - set upper and lower to Right-Handed. Menu, Tools, Preferences, Select Page, Video: Video Output-ATI Imageon, Quality-High, Smooth Zoom-ON, Enable Dither, Enable Acceleration. Select Page, Advanced: Enable "Slow Video Memory" and Enable "Disable AVC deblocking filter". Select Page, ATI Imgeon: Enable all options. Click OK and that's it. When you open a file, it will be rotated, but that (surprisingly) fixes almost all screen garbage that you would get if the picture was oriented portrait. Tap the screen to watch the movie in landscape mode and enjoy perfect picture and accelerated playback :-)

If you accidentally open DivX movie and screen gets distorted, just tap lower-right part of screen where "View" button is located, this toggles View mode, one of the modes does not contain preview window and picture will return to normal allowing you to change video renderer to Raw FrameBuffer.

One problem: subfolders do not seem to sync, I see new mail in Outlook, but not on device. Emoze settings show Inbox and all subfolders checked.

One question: I'd like to sync Junk Folder too, any chances for that? (I don't want to disable Junk, setup additional rules, I just would like to sync that folder)

Regarding security, emoze could probably use encryption between server and client app running on pda.

I used this on my old HTC Wizard quite a bit, and it was fantastic, but I got sick of leaving my PC on all the time, so I turned to mail2web.com's puch mail solution.

Yes, security is important, but at the end of the day, all of your email is going all over the web unencrypted anyway, so the last step from your inbox to get to your device is probably fairly inconsequential.

If you're really concerned with security, then the only real way is to have a connection setup to use a VPN to your mail server, instead of on the open internet anyway.

All that said though, it's a great solution that lets you use your own email address, as opposed to a mail2web address, or whatever forwarded to mail2web, with replies coming from mail2web.

Just depends how green you want to be leaving the extra PC running wink.gif

Green? I'm running web server on mine, so it's up 24h/day :-) In that case emoze is nice solution.

Just been trying to set this up and test it.
I have a HTC Hermes - there was no option for the PPC download for this, so I chose HTC Tytn from the my device question.

When it starts up on my PPC - I get 'Initialization Error' (Error 11).

I installed it on card first - then tried on internal memory. Still getting the same error. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks.

Installed fine on my HTC TyTN, using it right now.

For me emoze is perfect, because my notebook is always on, at home, Outlook is collecting emails from ~6 email accounts every few minutes.

Until now, I used two options: keep Outlook running and VNC to my notebook from time to time OR quit Outlook begore I go out and connect to my email accounts with ProfiMail.

It will not only format (giving ton of options to do that), but also defragment and speed-test and more.

Available now for $24.99 but doesn't list support for Vario II or SPV M3100. Does have the Dopod 838, is this different to the 838Pro?

edit - yes it is different, its the wizard and NO coreplayer doesn't support Hermes yet. They are apparently in discussion with ATI to get the hardware decoding working.

Any news on ATI Hardware decoding?

I never used anything like that on my screen, the device is HP IPAQ rx3715, it's over a year old and the screen looks like brand new - so I don't intend to use protectors on other devices as well.

P.S.
Maybe it's up to:
1. Build quality of the device, materials used etc.
2. The way you use/store your device.
