OK it will work fine. When you set a static IP did you also set the default gateway and DNS servers on your EEE?

Don't forget the RAM spec is odd, its a normal 128MB+64MB not completely accessible (*looks at Paul for more info*)

(Tried to post a comment on youtube but went over the character limit!)

I think it is unfair to knock TouchFlo3D based on the finger-unfriendly interface of WM6.1 underneath. That was designed with the intention of using a stylus. There was only so much HTC could do, and the video failed to show improvements such as the excellent on-screen finger-friendly keyboards. Overall Touchflo3D makes day-to-day interaction with common WM features far more pleasant than any previous WM handset, and on-par or better than a number of other manufacturers.

Knock MS for being behind the times as much as you like (it's true). But give HTC a break, the Diamond is better spec'd than a iPhone 3G and the interface is far from unusable (Moto, i'm looking at you!)

I guess you could if you turned of Touchflo3D. If you keep it on it changes the softkeys to options relevant to the page you're on.

I use mobile internet all the time when I'm out and about! I have Newsgator Go to keep track of my RSS feeds, not all of which provide full-stories, so its awesome to be able to click through and not have to watch as PIE panics trying to churn out the full site.

If more websites had mobile versions available it would be less of an issue, for the mean time Opera 9.5 fills the gap!

Sounds about right. On HSDPA with average use, push email, 30-60 mins of calls, the odd 5 or 10 mins of browsing or palringo I'll get 12-16 hours. If I switch off HSDPA this can be teased out to 24-36 hours (with minimum usage).

Same as my Kaiser and Hermes and Atom Life and Atom V and basically every other 3G WinMo device!

I've had a similar strange problem a couple of times now. It'll get really hot (just below the battery), and drain the battery. This doesn't seem to be connected to the GPS at all but some evidence does point to the device ignoring an incoming call, failing to notify me of a voicemail, then hanging and getting really hot and draining the battery!

I'm still concerned at people having issues with Touchflo3D. The time it takes to respond seems to be as it was designed, I tap an icon and it sweeps the old screen off and the new screen on. It can be sluggish now and then but it really isn't all that common, not enough to feel like i'm making a compromise by continuing to use it.

Not really, it looks like it should but then resizes the page once its rotated! Everything displays ok except for the sliding page transitions making opera flicker a lot then display the new page, and photos are scaled completely wrong.

QUOTE(l3v5y @ Jul 8 2008, 10:13) *
That's because it doesn't downsize to fewer pixels... Might work on VGA (Diamond anyone?)... But, it does scale up to work on my PC...

I have tried it on the Diamond, no dice sad.gif

Paul and I are proud to present the WinMo Week 14!

In this weeks 58 minute episode we're talking about:

  • Windows Mobile 6.1 update-fest

  • Gigabytes latest handsets, the T600, MS700 and MW800
  • The HP iPaq 614c
  • The new version of Dashwire (2.0)
  • AppToDate update
...as well as the usual amount of tangents you'll find in our chats biggrin.gif

As with all our shows, this episode is available in standard MP3 format or as an enhanced M4A format with chapters, images and links for use on an iPod or in iTunes. Well Orange would have sent out their initial batch to the top 30 or 100 stores (as mentioned above). So those stores will know they're about and be able to sell them. All the others will not know when they're arriving until they get the delivery, due to the fact they'll only be sent out once they get a new delivery at the central warehouse.

No different to any poplar new handset tbh smile.gif
