Guest MPXtricky
It stands for "General Packet Radio Service" and in short, allows you wireless access to networks (e.g surfing the web using your mobile). Start IE and check your icons - a little 'G' should appear, telling you GPRS is available.
Guest kaseho
This can be very confusing, and I have experienced a lot of pain with the networks in Malaysia who do not really know how to configure my MPX200 for Pocket IE use over wAP over GPRS. What you need to do is to make sure that in Data Connections, select a internet connection, which does not exist until you create one. So when you create, people will ask you to create a WAP connection and it all becomes very confusing. The solution is to create a connection in Edit connection --> GPRS Connection --> Connects to: Internet; Access Point: ; User Name: ; Password: ; Primary DNS: ; Secondary DNS: ; IP Address: That's all there is to it. My Pocket IE and MSN Messenger works. This is for carriers with only WAP over GPRS.
Guest cidenn
'lo guys.... need a little help. I just got a MPx200 this week (I know, getting on the bandwagon a bit late)... anyways... The phone has no GRPS settings, and I don't want to use GPRS. The thing is, there's always a 'G' displayed on the screen. Does this mean GPRS is in use, or only that it's available (but not in use)? Also in the little screen on the outside, there's a G on the signal bar... why? Thanx in advance for any information.
