To be honest I'm not sure there was any differance as the clips I have
were running very smooth in the first place.

He's right. I think it's really slow down the system, my phone was fast before the tweak.

It has nothing to do with video playback.

Great tweak: Much better Home and (incredible) Start Menu performance, thanks Clint!

As stated in the post above your own, this tweak is intended to make the phone run a little faster. You won't notice any great difference, perhaps only with the program menu.
The changes are all in the phone memory so you won't get the option of where to install. You're not actually installing anything, just tweaking the registry and the cab file will disappear once it has unpacked itself.

I can't believe I didn't come across this ages ago..! I haven't installed it yet because I'm wondering if this will do anything more than an update I just received on the weekend from Orange! ;)

It said "SIM Update" and all I know is that the menus (and the little 'clock' icon that shows up while the phone's 'thinking') have been running faster ever since... I might have to ask Orange what they've done before I end up countering any good effects it's had!

Has anyone else received this update or figured out what it was? :??:

TBH, I didn't really notice any difference at all. Sorry :?
Did you reboot you phone after installing?
Indeed I did. Where should I be able to see the increase? The menus seemed about the same speed and the inbox still takes about 10 seconds to load (that's my main gripe with the phone at the moment).

Hi, I had a very slow inbox open, but didn't re-load the mms software after a h-reset, speeded the opening time no end.
