Can anyone tell me if Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic version can be used for smartphone development. According to the MS website it has all the features of Visual Studio .NET Professional but is on a residential liscense and available at a fraction of the cost:

I'd like to know if anyone can confirm this before I start throwing money into it.

Thanks.

From my experience it will be exactly the same as other versions, it'll just be the licensing that will be different.

However, a good approach would be to ask the place your buying it from to confirm in writing that if it is unable to support smartphone development that they will take it back and provide a refund.
