File Name :: Love Kylie

Author :: scott2eyes

Category :: People

Description ::

A homescreen design, based around the August picture from the "Love Kylie" calendar. Scrolls down to reveal Calendar and Orange shortcut plugins... and more Kylie!

More to follow if this one is popular...

Features;

Missed Call screen

Call Progress screen

Time & date, message count, calendar

Orange shortcuts (requires Orange ROM)

To install, download the ZIP file, extract all the files and then copy everything straight to the IPSM/Application Data/Home folder. (ie. copy the "Kylie" folder with the files in it- don't just copy the files.)

ps. Don't like the scroll effect though...

It's not fantastic, I admit, but I prefer it to the "fake" scrolling that you get when using multiple screens, simply because you can have more than one plugin on screen at once.

The way I've done it is simply to split up the background image into slices and then use each "slice" as the background image for the individual plugins, so they all line up again once they're on the phone. Which, it has to be said, is a pretty fiddly way of going about it...

tried it on my phone and noticed that some plugins don't work on me... BTW, i'm from the Philippines and using a qtek(update) rom... i guess it's just got something to do with it...

also noticed that when i scrolled to appointment menu, it does'nt sroll down anymore... but can still scroll up...

attached here is the appointment image menu error i've noticed...

Yep- that's because you don't have the Orange shortcut plugin on your phone.

I've re-done the Homescreen, and replaced it with the Owner Info plugin instead- this should show the whole picture when you scroll down, as well as give you an easy way to give people your name, phone number and email address!

(There is a plugin that RemyJ has made which apparently does the same thing but is available on all phones- however, due to some problems with my firewall not letting me download certain CABs and ZIP files for no apparent reason, I haven't been able to install it on my phone, so I can't use that as a replacement. If anyone else wants to give it a go, feel free!)

It might have been a better idea to start off with this one, but here's a more straightforward homescreen, this time from the March picture from the Love Kylie calendar.

Same method to install- download the attachment, unzip it, and copy both files into the IPSM/Application Data/Home folder. Should work on all Smartphones.

(As you might have guessed, I like this calendar...)

8)

Features:

Missed Call screen,

Time, Date,

SMS & Email counters,

Calendar,

MRU.

Question Re:Love_Kylie(AugNotOrange)

For some reason, the call progress screen doesn't show on my phone (just the default one). It seems everything else (missed call, scrolling homescreen) works.

Does it have to do with the fact that I'm using a particular phone (I'm using an i600)?

Followup question: If the call progress plug-in doesn't work for my phone, can I delete the .xml strings wthout causing problems?

Thanks.

How do I install this?
Sorry for taking so long to reply (haven't checked this forum for a while!)

To install, download the attached ZIP file onto your PC, extract all the files and then copy everything straight to the IPSM/Application Data/Home folder on your phone.

Once you've done that, go into the Settings menu option on your phone, select "Homescreen", and it should appear in the "homescreen Layout" section. (Leave colour scheme and Background Image to "default.")

It's a standard Microsoft plugin, so I don't think the phone you're using should make a difference.

It might be that you're seeing the "in call" screen (ie. the one with "View Contact" and "View Calendar" options. The "Call progress" plugin is a part of the homescreen- if you press the "Home" button to go back to the homescreen while in a call, you'll see the plugin on the homescreen.

You should be able to delete the relevant XML strings without causing any problems- this is the section that you'll need to delete;

<plugin file="sysplug.dll" clsid="{37391041-C324-4725-BEE1-3232ED3539CA}" height="200">

<background bgimage="IPSMApplication DataHomeKylieKylieAug.jpg"/>

<background bgimage="IPSMApplication DataHomeKylieKylieAug.jpg"/>

<format state="selected" fgcolor="#FFFFFF"/>

<format state="nocall" visible="false"/>

<label y="12" x="82" font-size="18">

<text>Call In</text>

</label>

<label y="28" x="88" font-size="18">

<text>Progress: </text>

</label>

<label y="50" halign="right" font-size="22">

<text><progress/></text>

</label>

</plugin>

<format state="nocall" visible="false"/>

<label y="12" x="82" font-size="18">

<text>Call In</text>

</label>

<label y="28" x="88" font-size="18">

<text>Progress: </text>

</label>

<label y="50" halign="right" font-size="22">

<text><progress/></text>

</label>

</plugin>

I'll try to find some time to get some more pages from the calendar made into homescreens. I'm rather fond of July's picture...
