Hey folks, love my i600 and this is a killer forum. I really appreciate this type of support user community (reminds me of the old Linux groups before RedHat)

Anyway, I bought my phone off EBAY from a guy in CST.. I am in EST.. THe frigging phone keeps resetting itself back to CST every once and a while. I have not had it long enough to put a pattern around it, but it is really annoying because I keep missing meetings. :)

I am guessing the phone still thinks it is in CST. or something like that.. I have reset it through the date and time settings many times.

When you first got it, did you perform a http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset?

I did not perform a hard reset when I first got it.. but... I have performed a hard reset since then.

I don't think that is it.

I was wondering if Verizon has this ESN registered in CST for just the timezone sync (or something like that), and that is causing it to get adjusted. ie., The "smartphone" thinks it is in CST.

I will post it here if I figure it out, but thanx for the replies.

you could disable the sych of time with the network.

go to settings->more(9)->Phone Settings(6)->other(4)

and turn time to manual.

Also active synch settings caused this problem for me in the past your phone synchs your time zone with active synch but your computer does not automaticly update the time so you can pick any time zone and just set it by your watch. The problem is when you sycnch your phone it will download this wrong time zone information and then evetualy synch with your cellphone company to get the right time for this wrong time zone. I think it's also possible to have the reverse happen where you set your computer's time to get updated every time you synch your phone. This happened a long time ago to me with a pda using active synch.
