Mio 8390 Voice Message issue with Cingular

Hi,

I just got my phone (from Taiwan) and somehow I cannot setup my voice message prompt if someone have just left me a message. I can dial in to leave/rretrievethe message. I just didn't get any prompt or beep to let me know.

They told me the Voice number is 1(510)xxx1234 to enter into the phone.

But still didn't work.

I change the SIM card to another phone and it work. So it's not the account problem. It's the phone setup.

Is there anything that I need to set? Please help.

im a little confused as to what u mean, do u mean check ur voicemails/answerphone mesages, if so hold down keypad 1 at home screen, (speed dialling must be enabled)

i mean that when someone leave me a voice message, I do not get a prompt or signal to my phone telling me to go check my voice box.

Usually you will get a prompt/beep plus a voice box icon on your phone when some one just leave you a message. Then it will be gone after you have heard the message and delete it.

My "1" is working fine with the number preset in the SIM card.

Please help if you know the setting. ?Thanks a lot.

I have the same issue with AT&T. When someone leave a voice mail the indicator on my phone does not notify me. Not sure what to do. Thanks in Advance.

Yep.. chalk up another one having the same issue.. with Cingular (california) I get a lil vm icon but it will stay on even if i COMPLETELY checked my vmail, I have to COMPLETELY restart it to get it off... any ideas??

Oh btw can anyone help me w/mp3 ringers .. i tried selecting some i placed in sdcard/my documents.. they wont show up.. i tested by putting one in my windows dir. but when i select it, it plays SLOWWWW.. any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks
