Hi There! I was looking at the mpx220 processor by TI called OMAP 1611 with 54-Mbps interface to WLAN 802.11a/b/g. Does this mean theoretically the WLAN is possible? If so, could it be hacked to work against the phone carries wishes? Thanks.

It would require additional hardware that the mpx220 doesnt have internally.

However there was talk of Motorola developing a wireless network card in the form of a minisd card.

that's been nixed.  Monica Rohleder from Motorola sent me confirmation that there will be no WiFi miniSD card for the MPx220 (developed by Motorola anyway).

It would work if a 3rd party made it.  But according to Monica and Motorola, there isn't going to be WiFi for the smartphones.  Motorola is under the impression that those who want WiFi will get the MPx.
