This is an announcement for UK customers, Orange upgrades on 079737100146 can now offer you the phone prices are correct as stated previously on this site (free on tariffs above £25 & £75 on tarrifs bellow) they have not yet updated their website and customer services are also unaware of this, but I spoke to ugrades earlyer today and ordered the spv c500 for next day delivery.

If you are not on a £25 or above tariff but agree to switch orange will give you the phone free. I was on t-mobile 100 equivalents (£21 a month) and have agreed to switch to select500 which is 3’s equivalent to 500min, anytime, any network although the switch will not tack place until the 22nd I will be receiving the phone tomorrow

Select 500 and select 750 are available to existing customers outside of contract so do remember to take advantage of these tariffs at this time, as once you upgrade you will not be able to switch to them latter.

are your 12 months over? or did you upgrade to select 500 mid-contract and pay (how much?) and extra fee?

9 months is the minimum you must of played of current contract to be eligible for select tariffs

Yes you could so long as you are an existing customer no longer in contract.

I received my phone today but the scroll-pad is faulty, it will not respond to me pushing up, other than that the scroll seems more accurate than the joystick on the E100.

Spoke to Orange the phone is still not on their system and upgrades sold out yesterday so I just have to wait till their in stock but as their not on the system they can not be reserved. So I just have to call in and check.

They said I can return the phone and cancel my upgrade with in seven days or I have 28 days under some faulty phones act (not sure what that’s about) but I do believe I am covered by a 12 month manufacture warranty.

Anyway what you want is one of the select tariffs which are equivalent to 3. They are special promotion for out of contract existing customers, normally offered when you are asking for your PAK number t take to 3.

Thanks for the tip Mirzaa - I just changed my tariff to Select 500 and ordered a C500 :-) . Out of stock at the moment but I can wait, I'll order a 512Mb mini-SD card in the meantime.

First of all, long time reader first time poster :-D

What the hell is a select 500 tariff?? I can't find it on their site. I have been thinking of changing my tariff lately so i can call any network with 120 free minutes. Looking on their site tho, they have an exclusive tariff which is the same but with 30 texts and 1MB GPRS for the same price (£25). As im an out of contract talk 60 person (like my old tariff??) do you think i can get that exclusive jobbie???

Come on orange! smack it to me!

The select 500 tariff is a "3" tariff which orange offer to certain customers to retain their business, available at £25 and the 750min at £35. To get this you normally have to ask for your PAC? number to cancel your contract and say you intend to move to 3 for a better tariff and hopefully they will offer you the tariff.

My wife phoned up yesterday, out-of-contract talk 120 and got a new c500, select 750 and some free texts thrown in!

How much did you get the phone for? I should be moving to Select 500 on Monday. Apparently you need an average monthly spend of £30 to get it and I'm on £29.20 so need to wait for my next billing date.

It was free - my bill's usually about £35 a month.

BTW I didn't need to ask for a PAC number - I just said that a friend was offered select 500 and that I was thinking of going over to 3. Seems like it really depends on who you get on the other end of the line.
