Guest awarner [MVP]
with the 128MB memory that swings it more for the M2000 that's more memory than my Ipaq (m1000 also has similar specs memory wise)
Guest blewer
Very impressive specs, just too big for a phone.

Guest mattscholey
Very impressive specs, just too big for a phone. Agreed. A Pocket PC Phone Edition (MPX or M2000 - whichever) is the perfect phone for everyone, except for one factor - size. Matt
Guest Disco Stu
I'm starting to think differently about the size now. C500 sounds disappointing. XDA's not that big... Perhaps get a PPC device and a cheapo camera phone for going out...
Guest londonlad
thats how im thinkin right now too, use my e200 as my standard phone, should be apt/compatible for a while yet. Get a M2000 for videos, wifi, msn, in the house and on the go at times. or maybe a laptop depending on the price. mpx is on 200mhz and like jakob said it'll prob end up being 2007
Guest memoreks
any ideas on price or a rough release date? will it be here by the end of the year?
Guest B@man
I´d say M2000 - definately. (And MPX will prob. be postponed to sec quarter 2007) /J Where did you get that info from and is it accurate? I've been hanging out for the MPx for ages, if it's gonna be 2007  I'll have to give the M2000 a close look.
Guest Jakob
Sorry Guys.. 2007 is just a wild guess... We saw mpx first time in feb 2004, played with it at MoDaCo Gathering in Microsoft House, and untill now - all we know is release in the beginning of 2005.. So my guess was just a sign of desparation - we need the companys to provide more precise launchdates.. Good night /J
Guest blackhorse
Looks nice. Although too simlar specs to the M1000 for me to consider. Im gonna wait for the MDA4 said to be 3G?

Guest B@man
Someone must know why the M2000 is or will be a better buy rather than the latest PDA & a C500? And..... shouldn't this topic be in the MoDaCo Phone Edition Forum?
Guest Paul [MVP]
You're comparing a one unit solution (M2000) to a two unit solution (PDA and C500). If you REALLY need a PDA, then the M2000 is gonna be the one to have I think... Although it is Phone Edition news, I don't have a News area there yet, and is this is an EXCLUSIVE, I thought i'd post it here. Most Smartphone users are probably interested in it anyway ;-) P
Guest B@man
Paul, I agree that one is better than two but i'm definately interested in comparisons between this and the MPx (300) before serious considerations on parting with cash. The M2000 won't easily fit into a pocket for a night out. Although for business it's a "nice to have".
Guest blackhorse
I find my M1000 a great day time device, everything i could possibly need from music, games and internet. When im out on a night, the sim is popped into either my SPV C500 or SonyEriccson K700i To be fair M1000 isny really that big!
Guest )(nspired ))ead
Hey Paul,, question, any idea what the two programs running at the bottom of your screen picture,,, cause I'm looking for a battery meter/displaying prog for the M1000 or can you suggest one regards
Guest Paul [MVP]
Don't know what they are, but I personall use Pocket Pluc 2 from SPB Software, it's the best one i've found, and does a whole host of other great stuff too! P
Guest archiea
Hi , I'm new to all this, but wanted an opinion on whether to wait for M2000 or go for SPV M1000? Have seen a Free on contract deal at www.fones4free.com with a Free Flight offer on it. Is it as good as or better than SPV C500? Can someone review the deal and let me know if it is good. thx,
Guest mattscholey
The M1000 is better than the C500, in everything except for one thing - size. If you don't mind a big phone, get the M1000 (M2000 if you want a QWERTY keyboard). And the C500 is easier to use as a phone (better shape/buttons), but the M1000 is better as a PDA (bigger touch screen, better programs). All really depends on your needs.
