Yeah, I'm not too happy about this either. I upgraded my contract three months early and was told I had to wait another week to order my new handset - the M2000. When I called, I was told to call back in a few days as they were out of stock. Gave it a few days, and was told it would be out of stock until early Jan but "feel free to try again in a few days just in case".

Popped in to my local Orange Shop on the off chance that they might have one going, and the manager there told me that the M2000 had been withdrawn because of "a fault", and to come back in February. I then called Orange to ask why no-one had mentioned this fault to me, or the wait til February, when I had previously called - I was told there was no fault on the handset, it's just a "stock issue". Called back again out of curiosity as to what lie I would be told next, and lo, I was told that the M2000 had been permanently withdrawn. When I asked to be put through to a manager to ask whether this was true, and if I could therefore cancel my upgrade on the grounds that I had been repeatedly misled, the "shift supervisor" told me that the previous girl had "mis-spoken", the M2000 hasn't been withdrawn, and that it's just "so popular" that Orange hasn't been able to meet demand - but there's absolutely no faults with it at all.

I'm bored with the whole saga to be honest. I've extended my contract, and doubled my monthly tariff cost to £60, when I could easily have shifted over to O2 or T-Mobile and got the handset I wanted with a much better tariff for the money I'm paying. I'm sure others have felt the same. You'd think that they could afford us the courtesy of a little truth and consistency.

I have been waiting for the M2000 since November. They keep telling me (staff) that it'll be in next week.

I'm working tomorrow so I will try and find out for sure what is happening.

I got mine at the start of December, I'm assuming you don't have an existing contract, as they seem be of higher preference than to new customers, which is ironic really as the existing customers never seem to get the best deals anymore with Orange.
