Hi,

I'm looking at getting a new phone and needing a PDA as well I thought the MDAIII would be ideal. Searching around I see that 'one stop phone shop' is selling them very cheaply considering and was wonder what's people impression of both the phone and this company...

Does anyone here have any experience with either and can give me a clue about what they are like? It's been a while since I got a new phone now and everything has changed...

Thanks in advance

Well, T-Mobile are a decent network these days (certainly no worse than the others at least), though their GPRS charges are a little high if you dont take a bundle. OneStopPhoneShop have been in business for a number of years and are one of the largest online Mobile phone retailers, so there is no issue with ordering from them. As for the MDA III, its just another name for the HTC Blue Angel (aka XDAIIs, SPV M2000, PDA2k), and is a decent phone with an abundance of features. Its certainly one of the most fully featured connected PDAs on the market, and more than worthy of your money.

Totally agree - I recently moved onto T-Mobile in order to get the Blue Angel and I'm more than happy with the service they offer. Customer service is much better than I have experienced from Orange and Vodafone, and I have had no issues regarding reception.

w.r.t. GPRS, if you're getting a phone like the MDA III, then you should really go for a bundle as you'll save yourself a fortune - megabytes outside of any bundles are charged at £7.50, and so can be rather expensive, whereas the bundles themselves are pretty reasonable.

Concerning OneStopPhoneShop, the only issue I have ever had with them is when it comes to claiming for any free gifts that ship with the phone - these things tend to be surrounded with rules and regulations such as you can only claim your gift whilst Mars is in line with Uranus, 3 months after the first day of the commencement of your contract, between the hours of 12 and 1 on a Tuesday, and you must provide every piece of correspondence you have ever had or considered having with OneStopPhoneShop!! So be sure to read every bit of information when you receive the phone, and then make use of the great calender feature on the MDA III!!!!

Hope this helps!!

I'm also a bit confused with Onestop. Just got my MDAIII and got connected no problem, great phone / great network coverage.

I'm supposed to be on half price line rental for six months as a free gift, but on the "My T-mobile" website it says I'm on full price line rental.

E-mailed Onestop to confirm whether I need to send off those vouchers they sent with the phone, no reply yet, . . . might have to give them a call.

Martin.

Thanks for the replies...

I currently use T-Mobile for my existing phone and have had no problems with them at all. As far as GPRS goes, its not something I really need so it doesn't bother me that much...

I think I shall be getting one then. Always good to get a new toy once in a while :D

I had a similar experience, don't worry, just got my first bill and they (T-Mobile) credit you for both the half price line rental and the free texts. Still didn't prevent me spending £3.60 on less then half a meg gprs web access! (before I put on the GPRS bundle).

Back on topic, This is the second (or possibly third, I forget) phone I've bought from OneStop and I've had no trouble. Admittedly though I've never had to claim cashback so can't comment on that...

As for the MDA III, I've been very pleased with it. People may be raving about the HTC Magician but I'll keep my wifi/128megs/qwerty keyboard/larger screen thanks! Can't actually think of any complaints actually.
