Guest raiderz
Right now a lot of people have had their Blue Angel's for a few months, could people please post in here any long term problems you have been experiencing and maybe other users can point them in the right direction to solve them! Guest Pondrew
I hope it's ok to post MDA III (T-Mobile's Blue Angel) problems too? Only issues I've had are a couple of lock ups when playing with bluetooth manager (even taking that into account it's far more stable then the SPV Smartphones I've had). Oh, and finding it difficult to access internet through wifi at home (although that could just be me). It connects fine but 'page not found'. Saw some instructions to resolve this but didn't recognise the menu names they were describing... :D And I seem to have found an issue where by if you run Betaplayer after using Pocket TV the vids on Betaplayer display wrong (both colour and alignment). Guest raiderz
Oh, and finding it difficult to access internet through wifi at home Takes me about 10 seconds to connect, lets say i've just hard reset my phone, I click on the wifi icon in the systray, tick the Wireless LAN ON box, then ok, a box pops up asking if I want this new network to connect to The Internet or Work, I select The Internet, then another box pops up asking for my Network key, enter this and Wifi internet is working. Hope this helps Edited January 29, 2005 by raiderz
Guest Pondrew
Cheers raiderz. Strange thing though is that all of that happens yet internet explorer still gives me a 'page not found' message. Think it's possibly a router problem... After a few more try, I got the circling 'waiting' sign and never leaves. So, I had to do soft reset. This happens after a few more soft resets. Has anyone else experienced this. So far, what I did is to take it out of my Today and rely on the hard button. Thanks. Archel

Think it's possibly a router problem... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you getting an IP address from the router? Same thing happened to me on my brother's wireless lan, until I found out he was using fixed IPs. If your router is indeed giving out IP addresses, it's worth checking to see if a DNS address is being given out as well. Usually the router will forward requests for you so it might work if you set DNS to the router address, alternatively find out your ISP's DNS servers and put them in. Not got the phone in front of me at the moment, but I think you go into Tools --> Network Card --> click on the tiacxwln Compatible Wireles Ethernet entry. You should have an IP address listed there. The only thing that seems to give it a kick is a reset or a 'flight mode on/off' toggel - both of which are a pain because I have to enter the SIM PIN code and then wait for it to kick itself back into life. I'm pretty sure that on my old Nokia, trying to make a phone call or send a text would prompt it into check for signal... Guest Pondrew
Cheers for the help guys, delighted to say that my brother has done his usual thing of coming round, using the MDA III for a minute and handing it back with the internet fully working. And as usual he won't say what he did, just that he played with the settings. And he wonders why we always come crying to him for IT support when anything stops working! Orange had next to no signal, the MDA (T-Mobile) now has between 1 and 2 bars. Having said that the MDA hasn't lost signal for any real length of time yet so... SD <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ive noticed on most IRDA (infra-red) enabled devices that if they are near any speakers then the speaker can pick up on the "noise" of the transmitter, its possible but crazy by design also that the speaker of the phone is picking up noise from the IRDA of the handset. More than likely noise from another IRDA device though, such as IRDA wireless devices on your Desktop/Laptop PC perhaps? My laptop always makes a slightly high intermittant pulsing noise whenever an IRDA device is near, what i do is disable in Device Manager the IRDA port from listening for devices until I require it. A suggestion if this is the reason for the noise emitted from your phone would perhaps to turn off your Accept Incoming Beams option in Start/Settings/Connections. I'm not sure if this disables the IRDA read function, but if it doesnt see if the phone makes the noise in certain environments, i.e. ones with no emitting devices present. Finding a noise free environment with 2Ghz, Fm, Am and Wifi transmittion today is difficult, basements of buildings are the best places normally to try! This probably dont help, but as an electronic engineer i know noise can be a pain in the ass to define and eliminate!
