T9 on MPX220

Hi

I replaced my SPV E100 with the Mpx220. Basically the software is almost the same but I have one problem:

With the SPV E100 I could simply turn the T9 of and the words I wrote was added to the T9 the next time I used it. This does not work with the Mpx220 that runs wondows mobile 2003. So how do I then add words to the T9?

It is really a pest.

Thanks

Daekke

PS. What are the best setting for taking picutres?

The MPx220 uses iTAP not T9.

I'm not pertty sure what the T9 or iTAP is, but if i didn't mistake try press and hold the * key till Up-Right corner shows "abc" with underline. i can type "fuxxing" by just pressing 382+right

new to the forums here,

but i've managed to add a few words before...though i have yet to commit to memory the exact combination of keys...

from my experience on my cingular mpx220 while entering a text message,

everything below done in itap mode:

1. type the letters of your word (obviously your word doesn't show up)

2. the wrong word remains underlined but instead of backspace, press the left button to remove letters of the wrong word

3. type the word you wish to add by entering the letters individually and pressing left after each letter (still in itap mode)

it is a combination of button presses along these lines....

i do have a feeling step 1 doesn't matter, it may be that you can just type one letter and proceed with step 2

it's even possible that step 2 doesn't matter...though i have yet to try...

hope this helps!

now i just need to find a way to remove words to make itap auto completion even easier...

Yes there has to be a way. Please someone: HELP

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just enter word by peaces or use "expansions" feature of iTAP. Then iTAP should learn all words automatically. Or that guy who made integration made some stupid mistake.

I f :?: ound bunch of them already.

I am finding it difficult in sending sms/text messages to someone using my mpx220 - I want to use ITap and click on the "*" key but I dont get the option of Abc - I dont understand why. Can anyone help me with this? Is there another way to change this setup?

You have to hold it to turn on itap, that'll switch from letters "abc" numbers "123" and the itap "abc"

There is a program called T9 Editor (or T9 Database Editor) that I've used without incident on my SPVx and MPx200. Check the Downloads>Utils section at CoolSmartPhone.com. You have to register for the sight, but it's an excellent site.

The way is works is, you find and copy your phone's T9 dictionary file to your pc. Then using T9 Editor, add whatever words you want and save the file. Then copy it back to your phone, overwriting the existing file. As far as removing unwanted words, I don't remember if it does that or not...
