Guest simon211175
Afternoon everyone. I've spent a while here looking round, picking up tips and tricks etc. Last week I finally got me a C500 to call my own, so I figured I really should start theming. I know my preview is a bit bigger than most, but I had enough trouble getting that so bear with me. Also, my first attempt at xml and cab files is probably not quite right so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be most grateful. This theme is part mine and part Ruttensoft's Homescreen Designer's work, and I've also "borrowed" Crafty's phone image from his iCandy theme (I hope nobody minds?). ... {EDIT} - CAB file replaced with latest version. Only a few more bugs to resolve ](*,)defaultSH.CAB Edited February 18, 2005 by simon211175
Guest drblow
It would help to add a screenshot to your post - not everyone will download & install the screen just to take a look.
Guest simon211175
@DrBlow - I did, although it's just linked from another site because I didn't expect to have such a large limit on attachments.

Guest simon211175
not that I'm aware of. If there is one I didn't put it in on purpose. I've probably done something wrong in the xml or cab files - it's my first try after all

Guest simon211175
Okay, I have no idea why the background image isn't showing up. If anyone can help shed some light - I'm sure I did something wrong with either the CAB file or the INF file. (CAB file above, INF file here renamed as a txt file).defaultSH.txt

Guest simon211175
I think it's a real problem, and not just you. Unfortunately I think I need some help finding out where the problem is

Guest simon211175
Okay, I figured it out, but introduced a new problem #-o I wasn't putting the main standby image in the \home folder. I have now changed this (see the attchment below), but now when I turn the phone off, it shows the startup graphic rather than the shutdown one! I can't see anything obviously wrong with the cab file so if anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate it. {EDIT} changed again because I'd managed to misspell the startmenu file so it wasn't loading. grr. Guest simon211175
@mavisdavis - no idea, if I am it's unintentional. @e200 - I've fixed the missed call code. I still have no idea where the orange bar comes from on the incoming call though, and I've found that when shutting down, the first shutdown image is correct, but the second one changes to the startup image, even though I've set it to be a shutdown image!!!!!defaultSH.CAB
Guest e200
well, it still show a orange bar down on incoming call, the number is really little on the missedcalls, I don t find else for now... Also all screens are little too bright.
Guest simon211175
it still show a orange bar down on incoming callI've looked and still have no idea where this comes from. The incoming call image is 176x180 in size and should fit okay so something is putting it there on purpose - if anyone can help with this I'd appreciate it! the number is really little on the missedcalls on my phone the number is showing the same size as the preview above. I checked the xml file, and it is setting the font size to 32.9 - have you got anything installed on your phone that overrides this or is it something that can't be supported in an e200 (i assume that's what you're testing it on)? I don t find else for now...phew - I thought Id have more problems to be honest  Also all screens are little too bright. I designed it to be that way. I wanted a simple, bright, clean theme. It's not built to anyone's design but my own, perhaps my next theme will be darker :( thanks for the feedback :D
Guest simon211175
If anyone can help, especially with the orange bar problem, which seems to be the biggest problem at the moment, I'df appreciate it - the attached screens show what the incoming call image should look like, and what it looks like on the phone. Anyone recognise where this orange graphic comes from?
Guest e200
That's it ! Yes that's what it shows on my e200 !!... grrrrr
Guest simon211175
It shows on my phone too - but I've never seen it before so I don't know where it came from, or why it insists on sitting on my theme
Guest scott2eyes
The orange bit comes up by default on an Orange C500. I'm not sure (my phone is out of action at the moment, so I'm back to an MPx200 and can't test it properly), but I think a registry edit might fix it. This might help; http://scottthompson.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/....html#CustOther
Guest simon211175
thanks Scott. I had already waded through the registry and made sure these settings were set to the correct images - which they are, so I'm still stuck
Guest simon211175
found an image (ms_mobile.gif) in the Windows folder, under :MSBranding registry key which looks similar to the orange bar, and also a registry entry called branding.gif under :BrandingBox which has no actual image stored anywhere!?!?!? I've tried replacing both these but still this stupid orange bar insists on displaying. Is there ANYONE here who knows where this is stored?
