I am no coder, am paranoid though, and have been waiting on a phone with the functionality for quite some time. People think twice about lying to you if they know that their call is being recorded, which they have to acknowledge before start of the call (the law in the state that I live in). My opinion is that it is not easy for it is potentially bad for business, if everyone started answering their phones with "Hello, this call is being recorded..." There again, not everyone is like me. In speakerphone mode (activated in the SPV C500 by pressing the green reply button and holding it pressed during a phone call), you can hear the other person loud. If you are desperate enough, you buy another, cheaper smartphone and record the conversation there, using voice recorder or vnotes. Alternatively, you buy any cheap mobile that supports a speakerphone mode, and record on your original, highly specified smartphone. Mark. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One of them is a Bluetooth mp3 player, which will mute the music when there is an incoming call or you want to make a call. It will record calls with mp3 compression. There is quite a selection of them on the market and its growing. I found a Xlive 256 MB Bluetooth player on eBay and it does work. Admittedly the Jabra BT250 looked better and was lighter, but it would not record. It would also not play mp3s, obviously. For its sins (size matters!) it has been washed at 40 degrees with double rinse and it survived it well, but it did not survive a hot wash cycle a few weeks later. Its problem was the diminutive size and weight ... don't laugh and take your headsets out of the shirt pockets before you put them in the washing basket. With $0 incentive, there's little chance of a developer picking up this niche project. We've got to find a happy, (affordable) medium between $0 and $1,000,000 to encourage development. Also: for the people quoting Microsoft saying that recording calls is impossible.. don't you think that they'd have said the exact same thing for phone unlocking?! The difference was that enough people complained about it, and it seriously undermined the concept of a smartphone. Neither of those 2 applies here imo So even if it is technically possible, this doesn't have enough support to bring about a change in stance from MS. I have actually bought this and it does indeed record conversations as well as radio stations. The problem however is that it does not communicate well with the C500 and I keep missing calls. Maybe - of course that's not the original idea - would it be possible to capture both audio streams/channels at the receiving side, i.e. the headset? This would of course be another device, being a headset with recording function. Give it some memory, and after the phonecall the "recorded call" is sent via BT from rec-headset to phone. Its pretty basic, but it does work, and works well, allowing you to choose Storage card as well and change recording format. Not sure if I can mention names on a post here, but if someone lets me know if its ok (new to this) I will. I am using this software on an SMT5600, and it works great. But no for Microsoft mobile ones. The answer I had from a specialist was that the GSM flow was treated seperatly by a special processor ==> no recording possible... There are applications based on MS mobile that treat voice but just the microphone entry (the user's voice). :cry: no way to find an answer...
