Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to configure the M2000 so that it automatically uses a Wi-Fi connection instead of a GPRS connection when it is in range of a trusted wireless access point?

I have it configured so that when a Wi-Fi connection is not available it uses GPRS automatically but it doesn't seem to automatically use Wi-Fi when it is available.

At the moment it is necessary to select the Wi-Fi settings and then turn Wi-Fi on before it is possible to use Wi-Fi.

I think I know the answer to this already but I would like a second opinion.

Thanks in advance!

Luke

You need to leave WiFi turned on for that to work, otherwise it won't know there is an Access Point around. Would be nice if you could make it try quickly (automatically) but I don't think you can.

You might have it set to auto power off. Mine seems quite good at it when I'm at home; when I wake it up the WiFi connects in about 5-10 secs. I switch it off when I'm out and about though, save battery power.

You found the "Wireless Manager" screen yet? That's where I turn it on, but occassionally I do it from the Today screen. Both seem to work.
