"Caller ID" via Bluetooth?

Hi,

I've been using a Bluetooth headset with my Audiovox SMT 5600 and it's great, but I'm wondering if there is any phone that has the capability of announcing who is calling via the headset? At least for those phone numbers in your contacts. It seems like this would be kind of trivial to add to the feature set since the incoming caller is displayed on the phone's screen as it is.

TIA for info.

think there is one bluetooth headset, dunno if the luetooth is going to be compatible with your phone.

i've read it somewhere, the bluetooth headset has got small screen on it and it will tell you the number or name(not sure)on who's calling.

hmmmmmmm......... but if you are saying that develop an appz like this. to announce the caller(number or name) via bluetooth headset dunno bout that.

but i think it's a great challenge to the programmers here.

hmmmmmm.............

i'm not a programmer.

Check out my post above about the Sony HBM30. I think that might just resolve your needs there plus some added functionalities. Tell me what you think.

Hope this helps!

And if you simply want a Bluetooth headset with caller ID, there is the Sony Ericsson HBH-660. And then there is the Jabra BT800 with vibrate and ringtones as well....

Please note your phone needs to support the feature as well. My old SE T630 does, but my new Xphone II doesn't.

I can tell you the caller id on the bt800 doesn't work with the 5600.. Every once and awhile it will work so hopefully jabra will fix it in firmware update if there ever is one. I can't speak for the hbh-660..
