I went cheapo and bought the i-Tech clip headset. (from mobilefun.com I think)

it's crap.

I'm now considering a Jabra - either the 250v or the 800 - not sure whether £70 is worth it for the headset - but will probably give in eventually.... :D

I went to Aldi this weekend and they had some Tevion headsets in there for £19.99, i bought one and it works fantastic.

Could not belive the range and the quality is brilliant.

I suggest you have a look in your local Aldi quick !

Anyone combined a Jabro BT800 or BT250 with their Blue Angel??

Specifically looking at the BT800 - does the Caller Id work ok, what's the hand-over like on calls and connections? Does the phone do that annoying thing where you can't hear anything after you've turned BlueTooth off (I think this is a firmware fault?) Can you do the multiple ringtones thing?

any help appreciated greatly. ;)

I've just got the Jabra 250v for use with my M2000.

Have always thought BT headsets looked a bit silly, but decided I was looking even sillier holding a tin pencil-case to my ear (=M2000 in Innopocket aluminium case)!

The Jabra seemed the most innocuous BT headset I could find, with its all-black casing and begind-the-ear design. It also has a vibrating alarm which could potentially be useful if your phone is on silent. Cheapest I found it was mobilefun.co.uk

First impressions are that the reception is audible but not great. I get noticeable mosquito-like whining interference that comes and goes, plus signal break-up if I walk away from the phone or even if I have the headset on the opposite side of my head from the phone.

I've not got any previous experience of BT headsets to compare with, but I'm not thrilled so far.

Don't know if the reception might be improved if I could update the M2000 from the Build 3500 Bluetooth stack to a newer version?

By the way, does anyone know a way to get non-phone audio (e.g. music) from the M2000/Blue Angel to play through a BT headset? I've found threads on Modaco about doing this on smartphones, but not sure if this works on Blue Angel.

Hmm - I've heard a few people saying good things about the BT250.

Incidentally I get exactly the same problems with signal with my cheapo I-Tech Clip headset - which is why I want to upgrade.

The claimed range of these things is pretty unreliable by the looks of it.

Upgraded to the Jabra BT800 - and just used it.

Im highly disappointed to discover that it's just as crackly and the reception is just as bad (if not WORSE) than the I-Tech clip.

I'm using Build 3500 of Bluetooth on my Orange SPV M2000 - can I upgrade my Bluetooth software in anyway??? I"m currently searching but this information is bloody hard to find. :D

I purchased the Sony Ericsson HBH-300. I have a beard and the microphone of most BT headsets would end up in the middle of it, the HBH-300 has a long boom (about 95mm from centre of ear piece to microphone).

Pros: (claimed) 10 hour talk time, up to 300 on standby

Stand to charge it on

Still works after being dropped and almost squashed under my heavy foot.

Cons: Cost £75 with 25% off at Carphone Warehouse January sale.

It does crackle and if you move the phone more than 10 metres away the connection is lost and you often have to turn the BT off and back on to get it to work but I think that is more of a BT issue on the phone. I got mine last November and I haven’t got round to updating the BT yet.
