A1comms - what happen to me.

Guest iwod

Recommended Posts

I order a MDA compact on A1comms , T- Mobile 100 min 18 Months Contract and with 9 Months Half Price Line rental.

I order it about 5 days ago and i still haven't recieve a confirmation email. So i rang them today and they said for some reason they never recieve my order or my confirmation email never get to me. But they do have my order on their system.

Then they told me they have change their price plan and it is no longer half price line rental but double min. I said when i order it was half price but they said well it is changed now. And i ask them what i do now? They said i have to wait till MDA compact arrive and accept the order as 6 month Double min.......

I have heard many many Online retailer honor their order...... may be some were luck ?? May be i am unlucky ? Or it is simple a myth.

Yep - they won't honour your order for half price line rental as T-mobile have stopped the offer - UKPhoneshop said the same

I cancelled my A1comms order because of this - let's see what next months offer is!!!

OSPS said they would honour the half price line rental offer, if it was in effect when you placed the order.

I'll clarify this with them tomorrow

They said they would honour any offer made at the time of ordering

However, they've finally admitted to me that they have no idea when they'll be getting any stock

I dont see how they CAN honor your order, unless they do some sort of redemption/cash-back deal to give you your half price line rental, cause as far as T-Mobile are concerned, that deal is over and it is now double minutes. There is no amount of arguing from OSPS that will make T-Mobile give you half price line rental, trust me, I know (I work in a mobile phone retailer at the mo).

Sorry

he did mention the magic 'cashback' word during the conversation. However I think I was so annoyed about being told "don't know when we're getting any", that it failed to sink in

I guess that they would do the cashback rather than getting it from the network direct.

They would still make enough on subsidy to cover it.

T-Mobile MDA Compact

The Compact has been an unprecedented success because of the combination of www.ukphoneshop.com offering them at the best price in the country and T-Mobiles very attractive packages.

There is only one supplier of this product in the world HTC in Taiwan and it would appear that they have been trying to bring forward some of the April orders without success.

Our forcasts into T-Mobile for our deliveries commencing the 18th of April are in line with the known demand. By placing an order you will be added to our priority order list.

Below is a copy of our most recent email from T-Mobile regarding the MDA Compact.

"Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the expected supply of MDA Compacts from T-Mobile to Freedom Communications(Newcastle Mobiles) due at the end of March was not supplied by the manufacturer. Latest information indicates that this product will be supplied week commencing 18th April. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continuing patience and assure you that your custom is both valuable to us and is considered a priority. "

From one of the web shops.

Subject: T-Mobile MDA Compact lack of communication and stock situation

To: OSPS emails from the web

Dear Sirs.

I placed a phone order for an MDA Compact with your

company on the 22nd March 2005.

At the time I was informed that the handset was out of

stock, but that stock was expected within one to two

days.

It is now fifteen days later, and I have still not

received my handset. I have called the customer

services department 5 or 6 times, and each time I have

been given various responses

ā€œIt will be with you in the next two daysā€

ā€œStock is imminent sirā€

ā€œI am afraid that it will be next weekā€ (I was told

this over a week ago)

And the best one,

ā€œDonā€™t worry sir, we are part of carphonewarehouse

now, there are 500 units on the way!ā€

(CPW, your new parent, have never, ever had it on

their site)

Now donā€™t get me wrong, I know what has happened.

Demand for this phone on T-Mobile has been huge, and

the manufacturers, (HTC in Taiwan) just could not keep

up. I know this, and I know that you have now removed

it from your site, as have T-Mobile UK.

Yes, I am annoyed about having to wait for the phone,

but thatā€™s not half as annoying as the mis-information

that has been fed to me by your CS department.

It is obvious to me that they had no concrete dates

for T-Mobile, so why fob customers with ever changing

dates, why not be honest and say "we dont know"?

Please could you give me some indication of when I

will receive my phone?

Sincerely,

Richard Gera

hmm was thinking about it but there may be better offers nearer the time. I think i will sit on it for a couple of weeks till they are in stock everywhere and see what prices they are then.

You can get them from scancomm for Ā£ 50 on relax 100 but no 1/2 price months

They are all milking the situation at the moment

They've cancelled my order as well.

Placed an order with A1. Bloke on the phone was honest with me and said it wouldn't be in stock until the 16/17/18th at the very earliest.

The handset was 29.99 instead of being free (OSPS), but i'd rather pay the money and deal with a company that don't appear to be liars

Same here - ordered late 15th March, been strung along ever since. The line used by both the CS people when I rang and the guy (presumably) going through a list of cancelled orders who rang me later was that "there have been a lot of faults with this model so T-Mobile have withdrawn them from sale". What a load of rubbish.

Give it a couple of weeks and I guaruntee they'll have them back on their website at an inflated price. At least ukphoneshop had the decency to tell their customers the situation, and let them know that the T-Mobile half price deal was going to run out at the end of March.

TMobile should get stock next week but dealers are trying to milk the situation and raise their prices, I put my order initially with ukphoneshop on the 2nd of March, later I cancelled the order as they had no stock, put another order with A1Comm but again they have no stock and are not going to honour the half price offer.

I am cancelling the A1Comm order as I went for the Vodafone offer at Expansys, the Voda deal is as good and it is in stock, my phone should ship tomorrow
