As I suppose the recent Motorola-related news has been heading towards, it looks like Motorola has cancelled the MPx launch. From PhoneScoop:

Quote

A Motorola spokesperson today confirmed that the company has canceled production of the MPx Windows Mobile Pocket PC device, confirming a report last week by DigiTimes. Motorola has dropped plans for commercial launch of the device beyond Malaysia and several smaller Asian countries where the phone saw limited release. The company will continue to use the MPx for limited carrier and market trials to learn more about the mobile enterprise market. Motorola emphasized that it is still committed to the mobile professional market and Windows Mobile, and will introduce a new line of devices for mobile professionals later this year. The company denied reports that the MPx220 has been discontinued.
I'm not sure how this will affect all of those users who currently have the Motorola MPx; it wouldn't surprise me if the price on those will be dropping pretty soon, though. So, if you're looking for the phone even if it's going to be discontinued, you might be able to get one at a bargain soon.

on one hand it's a pitty... would have liked to see it in action, but on the otherhand... reviews haven't really been flattering. it would have been a great phone when the word was spreading about it, but it took too long to release it and now it's under the measure... it's out everythinged by other manufacturers.

hope they release a similar phone but with better specs soon...

...have to say I am pretty please I got hold of one yesterday...have been playing with it for 24 hours now and my Jam has not yet had a look in...

...for me, the built in WiFi is very cool...as is the design...it has 'wowed' evryone who has seen it so far...

...will prices go down?? Dunno...often with these things prices go up because you can't get them...only time will tell...

...it is a touch low on memory I admit, but it is running everything I have asked of it so far...

Cheers
Nick

I wouldn't call 32meg memory a 'touch' low. Maybe 'insanely' low. And please tell me it isn't true the MPX is running at less then 200mhz?! Movies on Beta Player will be abysmal (sp?).

As far as I'm concerned Motorola came to their senses and having finally started listening to the feedback they were getting on the MPX...

I'll stick to my 400mhz 128meg MDA III, not that I don't believe you!

There'll definately be interest on here for a while so it'd be good to hear some of your insights into the device that almost was...
