AT&T/Cingular 1.39 ROM available NOW!

The new long awaited ROMS have been released from AT&T & Cingular. I am running the 1.39 from AT&T and plan on changing to the Cingular version. If you have have the online version of the Motorola Upgrade Wizard, run it to get the new firmware. For the offline people (like me) the ROMs can be downloaded from various sources, so search for them.

The ROMs carry identical version numbers but from what I understand they are different. I can say that I am very happy with the volume output of the 1.39 AT&T ROM and the Cingular ROM is supposed to even be better.

Ok, people, just use the online updater tool, it will get the correct version

I am a T-mobile user and I just did this upgrade. My version now reads 1.39

So far the main thing that I notice is that my network is no longer labelled "T-Mobile" , but its labelled "T-Mobile Get More.."

kinda annoying,because now every time i check the time, instead of it saying t-mobile (above the time), its scrolling that t-mobile get more crap.

The volume is still too quiet,...

I am still unable to get the update. Using the offline tool that scans your phone and then check the web for an update. Reports that my phone is current with the 1.30 version.

Any ideas why I cant get this?

you need to read it again, you cant just run the tool, you have to move that systeminfo.xml file at the right time or it will not work.

I just upgraded per instructions (xml file switch, etc) and am running 1.39 Cingular and it seems pretty much the same as 1.30 to me.

I took me forever to get exchange working again... I had to force it to use the SMTP address for some reason... But other than that it seems about the same.

I bet it still doesn't work as a bluetooth modem for a pocket PC without jumping through hoops with the dial string. Leave it to Microsoft to make one Microsoft device unable to talk to another.

Does anyone have release / change notes for the different firmwares?
